Eric Forbes
Forbes Family at Saint Edmund's
Continue to work hard on assembling what I can of the sets of Forbes families that came from this area. I have a very sketchy tree from a family living in Clodagh; it shows this William Ross as having been married to Elizabeth Kingston (1939). She was the daughter of John Kingston & Catherine Forbes. CF was likely the granddaughter of George
Forbes and Elizabeth Ross. I believe that the above William & Elizabeth had a son named John Edward Noel Ross(deceased) who was married to a Collins. I have a Patrick Crowley in this tree too.

You are doing such wonderful work; your website is a pleasure to read. Hope to retire soon in order to spend more time on this family project. Best wishes, Eric Forbes

collins of west cork Ireland
I am not sure if I have asked you before regarding my family. I have used various online resources to trace my family and have found many christening and marriage records. My hopes are to perhaps locate the actual graves or cemeteries. My ancestors are from Drimoleague and Dunmanway county cork Ireland.
I am a descendant of Jeremiah(Jerry) Collins parents Jeremiah(Jerry Collins and Margaret Shimmick/Shenick?) b 1819 and Ellen Hurley b 1919.. her parents Tim Hurley and Hanora Driscoll(or some similar spelling. I do know very little about them other than a few records that place them in that area. You said you are related to a Collins are you connected to this family? I am just hoping to learn more about this family and my ancestors. I noticed that many of the cemeteries you have info on could possibly match some of my ancestors. To put it into perspective Jeremiah Collins is my great great great great grandfather or something like that

RE: Florence Driscoll
thank you for clarifying that's a Mr. Driscoll ;) That helps...That list is unfortunately not a sure fire way to determine if someone is actually buried at Mt. Hope, and unfortunately, there is no office at that cemetery to confirm.

Will look a bit more~

RE: Mount Hope records
If Someone dose not claim the request, next time I get to Lewiston I will stop in to get them. I will go back and add locations to the names I have added. The list I have dose not have them. It dose help to have them.

I now know why I though The stone was in c. It was on a hill in the back. I looked at the map of the cemetery and thought c was were I was. I took that stone photo in 2010 and just never added all of the ones I took at that time. My grandson and I took a lot last week that I was working on. We did section H.

I think I took the plot location from this site. It is a great cemetery. I have made a few trips for photos.

I want to thank you for your informative website. My Driscoll/Dempsey relatives were from Kilmacabea and the parish of St. Mary's.

Nick Turner
Michael Collins, b 1853
Hi! My contact email address appears in for those wishing to buy a range of small books and one buyer has asked me to research her ancestor, Michael, who emigrated to the USA pre-1872.

My interest is therefore more genealogical in a wider sense but of course gravestone records form part of it in linking individuals to a particular group. I've met Tommy and now have some 6 partial family trees. I'm also due to meet a man whose father was one of 16 children, none of which I have descendants for.

So, if you'd like any of my info to swell your database, you only have to ask. I'll be away from tomorrow until Tuesday so there might be a delay.

Thank you very much for the information on Father Collins. Your research was very helpful in finding out more about him. I summarized the information, but gave you credit on the end of the biography.
I hope I did justice to the information you sent.
