RE: Woodland-Perkins
Thanks for telling me, I have a Porter Library card, I need a Cleveland Library one too? I love the stuff you are finding, and a picture of your family too. Keep putting the stuff on Woodland, though I shouldn't laugh, can't help it, some of it is so out there, I have to laugh, we have heard of ambulance chasers, but not a Hearse, or rather a wagon and horses chasers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do you find these, that is too funny, I bet the poor deceased man was even laughing in heaven, I have read some others you put on, when you send me edits, and some of them are just weird! I really thought things were done a little nicer back then, but I guess not.

Grave toy theft
Hi: I printed up the message page and I will look that story up pretty soon. The nerve some people have. I'll be curious as to how much jail time she received.
By the way, will you let me know if the print on this message is tiny? Or normal?
Thanks.

Merle D Merrett
Dear CypressGreen,
Thank you for all the nice work you do.

May I copy the photo of the headstones for William Merrett (#127939083) and his wife, Louise Peters Merrett (127938999)? Their son, Merle Douglas Merrett (#127939442) was my great grandmother's 2nd husband. I would be very happy to manage these memorials, if you don't mind. Of course, if a closer relative were to contact me, I'd be happy to transfer the memorials to them.

Thank you!
Carol J

RE: Jason Sweeney's memorial
Hi: I do know what you mean. I'm sorry that someone stole that from your Mom's grave. It's really disgusting.
One of my sisters put an eternal "flame", I think it's called at our parents grave and someone stole that. She never replaced it either.
People who do evil things to others really do get their pay back.
You know what, it's a shame we can't put a webcam somewhere on the grave or stone and "catch" the worm that's doing it.
Take care.

RE: Jason Sweeney's memorial
Hi: Wow, what a shock about the bronze urns being stolen in Jason's cemetery. I suppose it's going on elsewhere too. I'm not really familiar with cremains, but I thought in most cemeteries, cremains are either put in a vault which is locked of course or buried in the ground. When my brother Bobby died in 2005, his cremains were buried in our parents grave.
The older I get, it seems as if I see more evil.
I mean, how low can a person get?
About Jason's cemetery(I act as if he owns it), when and if I get an answer from Find A Grave, I'll let you know. They may be able to do it from their site.
Take care.

Jason Sweeney's memorial
Hi: I have tried my best to enter the cemetery for Jason. I am unable to do that. I did enter the information in his biography, however, I'm going to e-mail FindAGrave and find out if they can do that. It may take a while to get any action, but I'll keep track of it. I'm sending them all of the information I have.
I'll keep in touch.

Jason Sweeney's memorial
Hi: I remember this terrible murder. It happened in my former neighborhood, which, though, was Kensington. How evil people can be.
I can't seem to enter the cemetery part of the memorial. I'm going to put the info. in biography until I find out how to enter it in the right location.
Would there be any way you can tell me where Mr. Sweeney was born?
Thanks very much.

Thank you for the message. I wanted to reply sooner - I just needed to do some research..

To answer your question - NO.. LOL

Grace isn't burried in that cemetery - her name was added to her parents stone when it was erected but she and her husband are buried in New Jersey. Here is her memorial number - 117582382

Are you related?

RE: dog buried at fire house
This is all I can find in an old email:
"As far as the headstone is concerned, the story I was told was the headstone had errors on it. How the guys got it I don't know. The firemen from station #9 used it to bury their beloved station dog which got run over by the Apparatus."

Didn't have $4 for the burial?? Wow. Then the other just put someone in there. I tend to believe we will never know half the people buried there, I have some unknown people there, and I know you do too. It is sad, that we will never know who they are. I guess in the day, you could probably do just about anything, and as long as you didn't get caught it was okay. I think Woodland has alot of untold stories, but you seem to be finding very interesting things.

RE: #128842402
I agree, I help this girl with updating graves in Cincinnati, and we noticed, sometimes 2 or 3 people were in the same grave, this was back in the like 1800, and she said, people would just come in and bury their loved ones, and no one ever knew. I find that very odd, but she said they did, and that was evident from what the internment information said. Then I thought, Hum, at least we wouldn't have to pay for a funeral. I know, sick idea, but it is a thought.

That is just weird, it sounds like if the funeral director had been there, he would have never told the family he wasn't in there. That makes me wonder if my family is all where they are supposed to be!! These are great articles you are finding, weird, but good!!
