RE: Steven R Bourne
I surely do wish I did, but no, I do not. Are you able to shed any light on James' brother, Clark T.?

Added by boomergirl on Sep 19, 2015 3:01 PM

James Leander Bourn(e)
I am descended from Stephen Bourn(e) and Rosamond Mallory, through Stephen R. (Red Steve) and Amelia Martin, then George Aaron Bourn(e) and Margaret Porter, then Ira Curtis Bourne and Mary Ann Wood, then Boyd Crockett Bourne. Stephen R. Bourn(e), (Red Steve) and George Bourn(e)(married to Nancy Vaughan, father and mother of James Leander)were brothers. I think I have that right...I've been known to get my Stephens and Georges confused sometimes :) I got sidetracked (does that ever happen to you?) into James' line trying to track down info. on Clark T. Bourn(e)/Boren (James' brother) to get his memorial corrected. If you haven't read what I found about Clark, you might be interested in checking out his memorial at #124386770. If you have any corrections or additions, I'd be happy to have them. Thanks for writing.

Ellie Stites-Swanger
Caroline Nancy Greer Wilson
My name is Ellie Swanger, Colorado. I grew up in Missouri and knew many of my kin and heard stories of family from "way back when". The reason I'm writing is very unusual. I have done 3 DNAs. DNA says that Caroline Nancy Greer is in my lineage. I have been working on her name this evening, looking at census records, Find-a-Grave but I can't determine how I'm related. I do have several forebears that were from the NC area. On my father's side, the surnames are: DYSON, ROBY/ROBEY, SWANN, and perhaps CAMPBELL. His line lived mostly in Iredell & Randolph Counties of NC. On my mother's side, I have: ALEXANDER, CLARK, SLOAN, AND SHIELDS who lived mostly in Mecklehburg Co. NC. Mom also had forebears named WRIGHT, MORGAN & MOSS from Rowan Co. NC. I may have other surnames, but at this time I do not know who they are. I do not know the maiden name of my 3rd great grandmother who m. Isaac ALEXANDER. Their daughter was Margaret CLARK ALEXANDER SLOAN, my gg grandmother. Margaret & husband, Thomas Shields SLOAN' eldest son was William Wilson SLOAN, mY Great grandfather. The middle name might be a clue, but DNA says I'm related to Isaac's wife, Caroline. If you know more about her, I'd love to have the information. If any of this sounds familiar that would be great! I would love to hear from you. Ellie Swanger

Weis memorials
Good evening!

I was curious, if you had relation to the Weis line as I am doing geneology research for the Weis family and see you have a couple memorials attached to the surname. If so maybe we could talk more? Thank you so much for your time.

Gottfried Meske Story
Hi, I have been researching my family history and came across a story of my Great-Grandparents, Peter and Elsie Ginther (Genther). (Pete's older brother Simon married Pauline Meske, who is Gottfried's sister.) Here is the excerpt...

...Gottfried Meske brought Pete to the Avinger (I think the last name is actually Awinger or Auwinger) home in hopes of finding a wife for Pete. Pete was very desirous of getting married. There were five girls there at the Avinger home, two Avinger girls, Elsie and two girl friends. Pete said, Im going to take home one of you girls today! First he ask for the hand of the oldest girl there and for some reason unknown she refused. Mr. Meske brought Pete before the girls who were all sitting in a row. Pete pointed to Elsie and said that he wanted her for his wife. They went into an adjoining room to talk about it. Elsie said the she didn't want to get married, that she was, too, young, that she didn't know how to cook and other reasons. Mr. Meske was pretty persuasive and Elsie, also, decided that she wouldn't be any worse off than she was at home. So it was decided that she would go with Pete. Pete paid Mr. Meske $10.00 for finding him a wife. They were married the next day, 29 November, 1916...

So your Grandpa was responsible for getting my Great-Grandparents to marry.

Thomas Kaspar
Is this the right C. Getzinger?

I have a couple of relatives in the US. The name Gottfried Meske and Barbara Winkler Meske sounds very familiar to me. My grandmother died a couple of years ago and I have seen very old photos with this names.

About 20 Years ago we had a visitor from our family in Germany named Clinton Getzinger. Maybe it is you.

I would very much appreciate a reply.

Best regards,

Emeline Rominger # 92746297
I saw your photo request for Jenkins Cemetery and I have visited the cemetery. I photographed the stones that I found. It is currently badly overgrown the caretaker told me that he will be clearing it soon. I did not find the stone for Emeline. I plan on going back and talking to the caretaker and see if he knows where it is or if it was lost to time. I'll update you when I find out.

You are welcome. I want to clarify something and that is the Waitsburg Cemetery (2,122 interments) and the Waitsburg City Cemetery (14 interments) are really one and the same. The marker is in the Waitsburg Cemetery.

This is a later dated duplicate memorial which I am trying to have deleted. You have photos on both this one and the earlier dated memorial. In order to get the later dated one deleted i would need for you to first delete your photos. Would you mind taking a look at it and see if you are willing to remove those photos?
Thank you very much for your cooperation and assistance

RE: Luna, Albert, & Edgar Milam
You are quite welcome. I did notice that Milam is misspelled in one of the memorials. I sent a correction to the creator of the memorial but there was no evidence that she is active. Thought you would want to know as it makes that person show up at the end and would make a search for that person impossible.
