Virtual Cemetery
Hope that you find it as useful as we do. Best feature since peanut butter to track my own family members! Be sure to send any info that you want added to memorials.

Best regards.

You may use the photo as long as copyright credit is made to us.

We have learned to adhere to the Find A Grave guidelines regarding transfers. For my non-direct relatives,
I use the virtual cemetery. You might consider it.

Nothing like leaving message for the wrong person! Just ignore my previous message - chalk it up to, um, the late hour :)

Union Hill and names
I went to your website. Nice and interesting. On name problems and spelling in general, people used to spell things the way they sounded to them. It wasn't so confusing then, much more so now. On various spellings of Lankford, I've seen it also as Langford on some Saline County plat maps. On Mary Patrick's maiden name, Rice vs. Cheeks, lets keep it the way it is pending more information. Rice has a nice sound, used as first or last names. Cheeks as odd and rare. But both show up on death certificates. I looked up Susan White's, then I looked up Harry's. Double check his year of death, may be 1916. Perhaps some other information will come along to say they were married.

Fred Blakey
Susan, I note that you are the daughter of Fred Blakey, Sr., and that you have a Waukegan connection.

I went to Northern Illinois University 1963-67 and roomed with a Fred Blakey from Waukegan. I wonder if he's your brother?

If so, I would love to get in touch with him. My email is:

RE: Clarence Ollie Blakey Memorial
I deleted my memorial so there isn't a duplicate. I'll keep an eye out to see if his wife's name is added to his grave or marker. Will update if it is.

RE: Clarence Ollie Blakey Memorial
Susan, go ahead and link Zenolia's memorial (117259056) to yours and update the location of the grave on your memorial. Let me know when you've done it and I'll delete mine and add the grave photo to yours. Be sure you select the Sacramento County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery and not the Sacramento Valley cemetery that is in Dixon.

Do you know if she was buried with him? If so I'll keep an eye out for the marker and get another photo.

RE: Thelma Marie Jackson
You are welcome to use the photo for your family collection. I will do the transfer shortly, when I get on my computer. I'm glad we found your cousin. Most of these stones, placed by the cemetery, were under the turf until we dug them out. They may be difficult to find again by now. I wish we had time to do more!
