Lottie Shimkovich
Hi Jackie,
It's definitely spelled Shimkovich on the headstone. Do you have a death certificate?

I'm going to the Racine County Courthouse in July to look up some records before a upcoming genealogy road trip. If you'd like me to look up her death certificate, I'd be happy to add her name to my list. Racine charges $20 for a genealogy copy of a certificate. So I usually just write the info down that I need, unless I feel that I really need the certificate. This can be a darned expensive hobby!

You can contact me using my regular email address:

I added Lottie's photo for you. Next time I'm there, I'll look around to see who else is buried near there.

Glad I could help!

Charles Shepro Photo Request - Racine, WI
I just fulfilled the photo request for Charles Shepro. Notice on the top of the stone, it reads "Husband". The only nearby grave is just to the left, with "wife" on it, but the name is Lottie Shimkovich (15 Oct 1864 - 29 Aug 1958) which doesn't match the person you have as Charles' wife on his memorial.

Do you know who this is? I have a photo if needed.

RE: Griffith
I returned to the St. Vincent Cemetery today and found stones for Willam Edkins, Percy Edkins, John H. Anderson, and Andrew Anderson and added memorial pages for any that didn't have them before. I also added 7 more Griffith memorials in this cemetery, but I couldn't find any Elliots. Feel free to use the Photo Request button on any memorial pages for grave markers you'd like to see.

Yes I think Alan is in contact with everyone :)
Milo had a brother Otto (Jim), Otto's daughter Marion Gordon, is the one that has done so much research on the family. She & Alan have done a great job researching the families. I'm sick and have been transferring all my memorial pages so if there are any you would like I would be happy to transfer them whether family or not, just let me know.

You are welcome but they are also my relatives :) We must be related somewhere down the line. My grandfather was Milo Melvin buried in Sylvan Cemetery in Evart, MI. Freeland's I will have to look at my notes to see where the connection starts.

Berg at St Boniface
Today I will post photos for Louise Berg at St. Boniface. All the Berg graves at this site have photos. Inscriptions or stones for children are rare in this era at this cemetery. If you want me to post the photo of the tall Berg monument on any other Berg memorial let me know.

RE: Bean Family
Talk about timing. It looks like Find A Grave merged East and Long Prairie today. I deleted mine.

RE: Bean Family
Hi Jackie,
There are 2 cemeteries here in Capron. The Capron Cemetery (aka Sunny Hill) is at the end of Show st. Amelia Cavanough and Clare Cornwell are buried there. The Long Prairie (aka Lutheran) cemetery is on Cemetery road. Find A Grave has the map s correct if you check there for the locations. Alice, Julia, Knute and Anna Bean are buried there. Clyde started recording Long Prairie as East last fall. I asked him to delete them, but he emailed Find A Grave to merge the two. He thought deleting them would be too hard. I bought a book from the Boone co. Historical society and I added those names, but I haven't gone through my pics or gone to the cemetery to try to find the headstones yet. I photographed all of both cemeteries about a year ago. You can add your memorials of the "Bean's" to Long Prairie and I will delete the ones I entered. I print them out and then re-enter as I don't think you can just change the cemetery name. You'll have to contact Clyde to delete or transfer his to you, maybe he'll delete his in East cemetery. Good Luck, Kathy

RE: Martin Raddats
Not much to go on as the stone is quite worn. Two burials are recorded, one on either side of the stone. You may want to contact the church office in Nicollet to find how it is spelled in cemetery records. I found grave by the plot book at the cemetery.

Steve Carlson
Martin Raddats
Hi Jackie

You ask if I am sure of the spelling of his last name and no, I am not. The transcript that I was working on said Raddats. The stone also says "son of H. and A. Raddats." according to the transcript. It doesn't look right to me either but until someone posts a photo of the stone, I won't know for sure.

If you have researched the family and you believe it should be Raddatz, I will change it.

Thanks for calling it to my attention.

Hi, this summer I'm working on the huge list at St. Boniface. I live near Cavalry so it is easy for me to look up some one for you. Send me an email in the fall (hope to have the list under control by then) and I'll be glad to look up your family.

You have worked on my family members before and now I have finally come across the obit for David M. Becker, my nephew.

David is buried next to his father (my brother) at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford. You have established a Find-a-Grave site for David, but you were without any information.

I will Email you the obit to your private Email address, and if you find the time, please use the information in it for updating.

Thank you,
Margot Blair-Brown

Dorothy M. Jones
Hi, Jackie. I went out to Dorothy M. Jones grave site on 6-17-13 to see if the date of death plaque had been added yet. It has not, but someone did add a small plaque in her honor. I added that to Dorothy's memorial page. I'll continue to check on the grave stone and update you. Susan

Request for Dorothy M. Jones
Hi, I'm Susan Park a volunteer photographer for Find a Grave. I would like to help you but need clarification. On the memorial page you have listed that Dorothy passed away on June 22, 2013. The month or the year listed is incorrect seeing how we are not in the month of June yet. Please let me know the correct death date and I'll go out to the cemetery. Thanks. Susan

Kathleen R. Becker is my sister. I would like to have a correction or two made on her information.

Our parents were: Lester M. Becker and Dorothy R. (Seaver) Becker. They are buried near to their infant daughter (Kathleen) in the Belvidere cemetery.

Kathleen's middle name was Renae; not Ruth.

Thank you,
