Find A Grave Memorial# 110342095
John Hayden Lewis's mother's maiden name was Huddleston, not Humphrey.

He was the son of William E Lewis and Sarah Eliza Huddleston. He is listed in the 1900 census of Moore, Oregon, Missouri as the nephew of George M. Humphrey. He was actually the nephew of George's wife, Lettie Huddleston Humphrey. George's mother, Eliza Lewis (Sarah Eliza Huddleston) is shown on the same census record as sister of George, but is sister of George's wife, Lettie Huddleston Humphrey.

RE: Emma LeDoux
I wanted to send you a biography for you to post on her memorial. Being that hers is empty. I thoroughly researched and wrote about her life and death several years ago. Her story will also be in my next historical non-fiction book about various women in history. I just wanted to offer you a bio on her, since all there is are some newspaper photos posted on her memorial but no real "bio" on her as a person. If you would like it, just let me know and I will send it your way. -- Thanks, J. Rubio

Emma LeDoux
I am working on my latest book, "Stories of the Forgotten: Infamous, Famous & Unremembered," and one of the chapters will be about Mrs. Emma LeDoux. Just wanted to say hello to the person who manages her memorial page on Findagrave. Is there any way you can post a short bio about her on here? I can provide you with details of her life, growing up, etc, if you'd like. -- Best Regards, J. Rubio

Margaret Catherine Gray Bowser
Hi Mr. Hirst,

Margaret Catherine Gray Bowser is my Great-grandmother. I have visited the grave in Bakersfield, CA. My Grandfather's name was James Asdale Bowser and he is missing from your list of children. He was born in November 16,1884, and was year younger than Uncle Bob.

I found her gravestone in Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA, as you entered it, thru links. She is not listed anywhere, not just not Union Cemetery. Can you help me make sense of this?

Thanks, Jane Linkswiler

RE: Dorothy Padgett #114487508
Thank you so much for the transfer, Dean. I really appreciate it. And, I will change her nickname to 'Dorcy'. I am in touch with a lady whose grandfather was Dorcy's older brother and her spelling matches the records that I have found. Thanks for letting me know the source was cemetery records. Cemetery records are not always accurate as I'm sure you know.

Thanks again!

I have 4 DeWoody family members buried at Union Cemetery. Bob #141453962 was my gdpa he is plot 83-4. His mother Cordelia #141454330 plot 77-13. Son Donald #145927376 plut 74-12 and according to his funeral memorial handout that I have saying Gurney L was also buried at Union Cemetery I am thinking that this one you have listed for S Lee DeWoody is actually Gurney L Dewoody because he died on the same date you have listed. ID#14592710 plot 74-2.... all four of them are in Garden of Faith section. Is it possible that you mistyped an S when it should be a G. I am trying to link everyone and would also love to manage their memorials. I am registered as Terry Rascon under email not sure how you transfer it to me or if you can just see if there needs to be a correction so I can go back and establish the linking process.

Duplicate Azor/Asa Anderson memorials

I believe you have duplicated a couple memorials, including one you earlier created:

first created: Asa R. Anderson 1829-1907 # 94155879

later created: Azor Reese Anderson 1829-1907 # 126409501

first: Asa R. Anderson 1872-1904 # 125210867

later: Azor Reese Anderson, Jr. 1872-1904 # 126411755

The 2nd one for each man created seems to be a duplicate, regardless of spelling. The later two seem to be using unsourced information from the internet rather than cemetery/tombstone data. In fact it would be very nice if you could supply the source for the death dates in 1904 and 1907 respectively, as they do no show up in California death indexes that I can find.

Asa can easily be a later misspelling of Azor, but the supposed middle name of "Reese" being what the initial "R" stands for, needs some source as well.

Thanks for your attention to this and your contributions to Findagrave!

Hi Dean,

I wanted to let you know I submitted an edit for Vern Tucker #145191875 adding his wife Mary Tucker #145191321. My parents were close family friends of Vern and Mary, and I grew up knowing them my whole life. Great people, I still miss them. Thanks for adding them to the memorials.

RE: Frances Roland
That would be great. Just let me know what I need to do. Thanks for checking for her husband. Also, if there is anything to take a picture at her plot or his that would be great.

RE: Frances Roland
Yes, She is my grandmother. She left when my mother was 7 and we have been searching for what happened to her for many years. We just got a clue the other day regarding her married name (2nd marriage) and were able to connect the dots. Still not a lot of information but we are glad to know what we know. We cannot find any information about her 2nd husband. Maybe he is buried next to her? We would love any information you could provide. My mom would love to know if she has any sibling from her mothers second marriage. We have also done a full genealogy on France Roland (Lee - maiden name) so if there are other children who would like this information we would be happy to share.

Thank you!
I wholeheartedly appreciate your contributions! I've discovered my paternal grandmother's grave site. I only met her when I was a baby. I found out decades later that she passed away in 1995. Conflicting online information gave two different burial locations. Your photo has solved that mystery! Thank you again for all your efforts!!

Hi Dean,

Yes, I am very sure. Paul and Sarah were married in Ossipee in 1891 when they were about 16. They had a child Benjamin Franklin Welch who was born in 1892. Paul and Sarah were divorced in 1895.

William Case Styker
William ( Winfield) Case Stryker is my great grand uncle. Would you be willing to transfer his record to me. I have been doing my family history for many years. It took me over 20 years to locate him. I would appreciate your considering the transfer. I have entered his brothers and sisters on Find a Grave with his parents. The family lived in the state of New York. Thank you.

RE: Mary Wyatt
Hi! Not a relative. Mary Jane Sears Wyatt was a very interesting lady, who went from housemaid to running a photography studio in Roseville, Illinois, and then operated a railroad car photography studio in Nebraska. She was quite a remarkable figure, and thus the sponsorship. I plan to add a few things to the memorial, but I don't need to manage it to do that (not that I'm against managing memorials). Thanks for your note.
