RE: Merrill Frederick Paulson #96769476
Merrill's military marker is mounted on the back of the back of the husband & wife marker.

It was on my list of retakes because I missed taking an individual photo of the military marker the previous trip to the cemetery. I had a wide shot of the back of the Paulsen plot and saw the military marker. Oops!

I can send you more photos through your e-mail if you'd like.

Kathy: I took a screwdriver and poked around in the ground in Lot #729 looking for buried stones. I found a buried stone for Daphen Matilda Fleener 4-729-19 and John Victor Fleener 3-729-19. I could not find any stones for Irene Leonson 1-729-19 or Levi Leonson 2-729-19. I also noticed that Daphen Fleener's maiden name was Partridge. Irene Leonson's maiden name was also Partridge, I would guess that Irene and Daphen were sisters, since they are buried in the same Lot. Anyway no luck on stones for Irene and Levi... Hope this helps...

Meredith stone
We are vacationing in the Forester area I found the Meredith stone ,covered with lots of moss. Difficult to read Abrahams first name but last name, birth and death is visible as well as Martha on other side. One other side is difficult to read, perhaps an inscription, I will send them when we get home. Elaine

Phillips family
Thanks for your message. I am not related to the Phillips. I know that you have your reasons, but all of the information from their markers are included in my memorials. It is redundant to include it a second time.
Thanks, Ann

Kathy, I am in the process of editing those photos and I have several other Elliots I found so please check back tomorrow to see if I've made the updates. Sorry, I'm on vacation so my time isn't completely my own.

Dear Kathy,

I will check the next time I am there, but the transcription that you have written on the memorial is exactly what appears to be on the stone.

Mark Lay
Lay Family Tree
Hello Kathy,
I stumbled across your memorial to Fred Lay. (Find A Grave Memorial# 111201500).
I have a family tree on for this family because I was curious about every family named Lay, who were born in Germany and settled in St. Louis Missouri. This tree is called "Lay Family Tree 5". As it turns out, I am not related to this family but the tree has some obituaries and other documents that you may be interested in.
If you like you can contact me at

RE: The moore's #7948836 & #148471960
Kathy, The tall stone is in the center of the lot, the smaller stones mark where they are buried. Samuel & Emily are buried here as well as Samuel's sister, Sarah Fellows and her 3 children & her eldest daughters husband. Samuel's brother, McConnell Moore & his wife are buried in the lot to the right. I've added all their memorials. I'm not sure what the inscription is above Emily's name but I'll go back & check it out.

Hi! Unfortunately, we were not able to make out anything written on the stone. We got some information from the Sanbornton Historical Society and from the cemetery records. There is a good book by Moses Runnels called "History of Sanbornton, NH" that contains some inscriptions for the early families of Sanbornton. There may be something there...will check and get back to you!

Josh Emerson
I found Josh's stone, and next to him there was a Mary Emerson (1798-1879). This may or may not be his wife. I put a picture of her stone up since she already had a memorial. See if that is who you were thinking of.

I see there is an indexed birth record for 1901 Feb 13 also. In that case, I think the other sources that have him as born abt 1897 are convincing.

We may have communicated about this person earlier. I see you have his birth as 13 Feb 1901, in Sheboygan. He is in the 1900 census in Milwaukee with parents, listed as 3 yrs old. He is in the 1910 census in Milwaukee as 13 yrs old. In the 1930 census, he is in California as 33 yrs old. In 1946 he arrives in NYC at age 49. In 1949 he is on a crew list in Seattle as age 52. To top it all off, his birth is registered in St Croix, Wisconsin 13 Feb 1897. Not sure where 1901 comes from.

Linda Laird
RE: Albert G. Braman #42803181
Hi Kathy

I also live in Spokane and have been to the Fairview Cemetery at Rockford.

Albert and Edith's daughters, Edna and Mona are both buried there.

The confusion may come in the fact that they are both "Fairview" Cemetery.

The Vital Indexes of Canada 1872-1979 show that both Albert and Edith died there.

I have a letter written to an attorney by Albert and will find it for you.

They moved to Canada and according to my grandfather, his nephew, they never came back.
He really wanted nothing to do with his family.

If you look at the records for Fairview in Washington there are 6 Bramans-2 children of Albert and Edith and Jesse ( son of my great grand parents)

Orval and his wife are not related.

I believe that the Fairview Cemetery for Canada is also on line.

Hope this helps.

and thank you for the query.

Always good to be reminded we are all Looking for the same thing-Answers.

Any more questions be sure and email me

RE: Jenkins Family Members
Emma Lou O. was a still born child of Emma Lou Jenkins Oakes and Earle Oakes, both who are deceased now.
I haven't updated this since Emma Lou passed. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

RE: Forrest Irvin Peeler #29771849

Yes, the little ones always touch my heart, too. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like to lose so many children in infancy or when they were very young, but it happened to nearly every family back in the olden days.

The person who created the memorial for Forrest does not have the dates nor the inscription quite right. Unfortunately, she does not respond to requests for corrections.

I'm happy to say that I can tell you what Forrest's stone says. The following is an exact transcription, including dates, spelling, capitalization and punctuation:

Beloved son of
Born Feb'y 11, 1909
Died Feb'y 23, 1909

Budded on Earth to bloom
In Heaven.

Thank you for your kind words. I am very glad to know you were able to view the stone via my photographs.

Kindest regards,

You are most welcome. My parents and grandparents are buried there. I came here as a child and made a path to the graves through the weeds. The cemetery is now well kept. Joyce

Here is a link to the on-line transcription I used to create the memorial.

The site is pretty accurate, but there are some mistakes occasionally. We'll know more after I photograph the cemetery.

Please take a look at the Find A Grave guidelines for the use of burial unknown. "Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days."

I am sending a request to Find A Grave to have them merge the two memorials. That will resolve the duplicate memorial issue. This usually takes about a week or so.

I took photos of all the stones in Elmdale Addition and don't have it. It is possible I could have missed it.

When it gets nicer I will go to Greenwood and check the office to see what they say.
