|KC MO||Hillside Cemetery|
Hi, my great grandmother is buried in Hillside and I am trying to locate her obituary for more clues. I read your bio and was wondering if you could guide me. I recently moved to this area and would love to get connected to the Black's who are buried in the Hillside Cemetery. Laurinda Black is my great grandmother. Is there a phone number or website to go to search more. I just got off the phone with Peters-Stumpff Funeral home and for some reason there are no records for the year I need, 1919. I think she said 1911-1927. Thank you, KC MO

Thanks for the kind words Pam. If I ever get half as good at it as you are, I'll be proud as you do a remarkable job on these stones.
Keep up the great work.

Thank you Pam,
Very nice stone. Hopefully some of her relatives will find it and the information. Thank you also for the transfer. My intention is always to transfer to direct relatives. Unfortunately, I've not heard from any.
Your friend, Lisa

I'm happy to transfer Mr. Hasting to you. After the transfer I clicked on the child that had been linked to it and was I ever embarressed to see that he was actually "LEE R." rather than the "LEER" as I had interpreted from the photo I took! I thought at the time that it was an unusual name but certainly not the most unusual one I have come across!! I certainly hope you will correct my mistake quickly!! Thanks for all your hard work!

THANK YOU!! We read your bio & visited your instructional page for making cement headstones & markers. Fantastic!! What a wonderful idea and you've put together a very easy to follow "how to" do-it-yourself page. Our compliments on such thoughtful and inventive ideas. BTW we now know how we will go about adding a marker for Joy's gr grandfather! Thanks so much! Jon & Joy

I made the additions to Delbert's memorial. I myself am a veteran and I feel very strongly about honoring our veterans in as many ways as possible. One way is on findagrave. I noticed that many of the findagrave memorials in Floral Haven cemetery did not have tombstone photographs, so I took photos of all graves in Veterans Field of Honor and divided it into quadrants to make locating graves somewhat easier. I was dismayed to see that about 75% of the veterans did not have a memorial, so I created one for each of them. If there are so many not on findagrave in Veterans Field of Honor, I expect that the same applies to those in the Field of Honor Annex.
There are just too many of them to properly manage and add biography, military record, etc. to the basic tombstone data.
As you can see on my bio, I despise "numbers collectors". I think that if you do not have time to make corrections, links or transfers, you have too many graves! Despite all that, I have ended up with quite a few myself, volunteering to update about a fourth of the graves in Park Grove cemetery in Broken Arrow (total mess) plus trying to get memorials for our veterans in Floral Haven. If you know any "gravers" who might want to accept transfers of any of our veterans, please feel free to forward this email.

I've made the family changes for Mr. Bell, but this is just an excuse to write you a note. Now I know why I read the profile of the Find A Grave member every time I make changes; I learn a little bit about "us". I followed your links to the site about making gravestones. Now I have instructions and a source for the number/letters to be used for embossing. Thank you so much, and have a great day. Will B.

No, I do not mind you sending info, dates, cemeteries. I am very appreciative of your help, not like some members that dupe because they aren't listed yet. I am in the process of cleaning up some of my burial unknowns but just wanted to take the time and say 'THANKS' to you.

You are welcome. I do like taking the lot photos, helps to know who the neighbors are and it could trigger family connections for people who look at them in the future. Take care and God bless. Red

Thank you so much.

Once again, thank you.
I have been working on getting the information on the other memorials as well.
I am hoping that one day a direct relative will come along and find more pieces to their puzzle.
In doing so, I might repay your generosity by helping someone else.

Thanks for making the edit. I just found her info early this morning and didn't know that she didn't have a stone. Thank you in advance for making one for her. I hope others realize how much work you do. If it had not been for running into you at the cemetary, there is no telling how long I would have wandered around looking for Byron and Rebecca.
I have amassed a large amount of information and can almost link all of the Spurgeons buried at Hillside and other cemetaries in Oklahoma and Kansas. I believe that you created most of the memorials but not all. I don't want to hit you with all of them at once. How would you like me to send it.

|Karen Linley Kamm||Mildred Juanita Linley|
Pam, thank you so much for finding my aunt's death certificate!! My aunt (since deceased) had written down that they were both buried in the "East 1/2" of Hillside Cemetery. I'm sure that doesn't help that much.
My husband and I were there in August and looked around. Of course, I KNOW there are no headstones after so many years. And, I guess records from that far back are hard to find. But, I would think there should be something as Barbara died a year after Mildred. If you should happen upon more, please let me know.
I want to thank you for all the hard work you do for families. We actually stopped at the Museum when we were there but it was closed that day. I guess it has very limited days/hours that it's open.

|Karen Linley Kamm||Thank you|
I found your name attached to one of my aunts on Findagrave.com. Actually I have 2 aunts that are buried at Hillside but so far I have been unable to find any kind of record. Actually, I haven't searched that hard!! I've been on Facebook with people from Skiatook and they were kind of at a loss of who owned the cemetery and also records. My aunts are Mildred Juanita Linley (dob: 7-2-23 dod: 8-9-31) and Barbara June Linley (dob and dod: 11-7-32). My mother, aunt and I made headstones for them 45-50 years ago. But, I think they've long since disappeared. Do you think there would be any obits from the Skiatook/Tulsa newspapers from these years or burial records at Peters Funeral Home? I grew up in Skiatook and graduated in 1966. I now live in Ohio. I would love to find more as time goes by. Thank you. Karen Linley Kamm
