I am sorry that it has taken so long for me to reply (I have small children). I do not live in Indiana. My information came from a trip I took several years ago.

Please do not use flowers to post biographical information. The memorial manager is unlikely to see it and it is against the guidelines of the site. When submitted to admins for removal, the information is lost. Please use the Edit tab on the memorial to submits additional information and corrections. Anything that can got in the first five options should be included there. Thanks.

Thank You Ron for clearing this up for me. I was wondering why I could not fine John Clidence, now I know. I have corrected his information and added links to his wife and children. Judy

I didn't do anything! Glad to know I'm not the only one who buys photos and researches the people in them.

I claimed your photo request, however there is already a grave stone photo on the memorial. Did you want another?

Sorry Ron I wouldn't know. You might try calling the Gun Lake Twp. office which from what I gather is in charge of 3 cemeteries including Hillside in Plainwell. If you find them you can put up the memorials if they are not up yet.

RE: Roxie Strawn Haller:
I apologize for for the delayed response to to your question. Based on the Social Security Death Index, it appears that Roxie died in January of 1984, probably in Washington DC - which is listed as her last place of residence. I'm sorry, but I have no additional information on Roxie. I photographed her grave in the course of photographing all the graves in the Foreign Service section of Rock Creek Cemetery. Since her marker bears no information on her birth or death, I'm not even certain that she is actually buried there alongside her husband (Rock Creek Cemetery may be able to clarify that). The only other likely source of information may be her obituary - if one was published in the Washington newspapers.

Maybe first you should confirm your email address, as I will need it to make the invitation: clidence@att.net. Is that right? Seems a bit short...

Mr. Ron, the best I can do for you is invite you to see my tree at Ancestry. Everything that I know is there.

I will send you an invitation. It may end up in your junk mail, so watch for it.

RE: Guy Arthur Stewart Sr.
I created the Find A Grave for Guy Jr. and his wife based on the Newspaper obits I found.
I have not found any obit for Guy Sr. so I do not know where he is buried. I also didn't find one for his wife.
His Social Sec death record said the last payment was in Marion County but I only have he died in Greenfield, Hancock, IN.
If you live in Indiana you could check for a death record and it might include burial info.

Russ Norris
Fernando (Ferdinand) Scott 87860683
Hi Ron,
I have been researching for several years the ambush at Richfield, MO. on 19 May 1863 in which Ferdinand Scott was in command. My grandfather Moses McCoy was also under Scott's command during this raid. I notice on a Find A Grave memorial you posted that he had family in the Scott Cemetery in Scircleville, Indiana. Do you have more information on this?
As you are probably aware there are 2 different Find A Grave memorials for him. 1 has him in the Smith/Davis Cemetery in Raytown, and the other in Grandview. I'm not sure what that is about?
I have found marriage records which indicate he married Josephine P. Vance before his death. Any information on this individual and Ferdinand would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Russ Norris

I don't have access to that one. If it is Clinton county the library in Frankfort is a great resource.

Hi,
I added a headstone photo to this memorial and noticed your notation on the memorial that this is the father of Newton Moppin. According to the cemetery records and headstone dates, this is a child who died at the age of 1y, 1m, 9d.
Many thanks,
Jane

RE: Nettie May Gallager Clidence
Nettie and marriages:
b. 1867- d. 1935 Toledo, Lucas, OH
1. William Ivan Purdy m. 1886
2. Ulysses Grant Chaney m. 1899
3. James S. Clidence Aft. 1930 census
Never found a marriage record for James and Nettie, but the death record for Nettie states she is/was married to James Clidence.

James was b. 1845 VA d. 1/10/1938 Toledo, Lucas, OH
James' death record states he was a widower.
Both were living on Paxton St., Toledo, at their deaths and death certificates state both buried in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, Lucas, OH.

James was previously married to:
Susan (Susannah) Byrd b. 1846 PA d. 4/21/1929 Toledo, Lucas, OH.

Nettie was living in Toledo in the 1930 census, but not with James.
So if James and Nettie were married it had to be between the 1930 census and 1935 when Nettie died.
Can't be sure they were married without a marriage license.

Hi Ron:
You and I share a great great grandfather - Felix Gallimore. A long time ago, I was doing more research on Felix, as my husband, Bob Griffin and I were joining the Society of Indiana Civil War Families. I saw your note about Mabel Clidence. All the time I was growing up, my grandmother - Edith Bower and my great aunt Opal Cox, talked and visited Mabel. I just never pursued the link. I am, obviously, named after Judith Anna Gallimore Boyer. It is so nice to meet another family link. Tell me how we are linked. Was Mabel's maiden name Gallimore or was her mother a Gallimore. I have still more info to share if you have an e-mail.
Best Wishes, Judy G. in Tennessee
PS - Still manage a farm on Opal's home place.

I don't know about any Washington Cemetery??...and I don't believe I have a Wilbur Duncan in my genealogy program.... As, I only have added memorials for my husbands family and my family...

Maybe, there is a person that has kept records for the Cemetery you are looking for....Google GenWeb and then go to the state and look for cemeteries in the county you are looking for....or, Google the name of the cemetery, town and state and see what comes up...:)

Happy Hunting...Sincerely, Ruth Adkinson

Barbara Scott
RE: Owen Scott:
Hi Ron - I'm not aware of any connection between these two Scott families. Jesse Scott lived in Center Township in Rush County and after his death his wife moved to Richmond with one of her sons.

I have seen references to some Scott "cousins" in PA but have not been able to find the connection. As I'm sure you deal with too, it is a very common name and establishing connections can be difficult!

RE: Owen Scott
He could very well be buried at Pleasant Run Cemetery. When I entered the memorials on Find a Grave I only had an old transcription to work from and the photos were provided from a fellow genealogy friend. Because there are a lot of bare sections at the cemetery, I'm sure there are many graves that don't have stones anymore or possibly never did. Another option is that he might be buried at the Old Richland Methodist Cemetery. If you feel certain that he is at Pleasant Run, I would suggest that you create a memorial for him there, but add in the note section that there is no record for him. If I can help in any other way, please let me know.
