Samuel A Moore
memorial #99019331
Since you are related, I'd like to know if can help me sot out some confusion with Samuel.
In the census he is listed with initial A for middle, and is son of Newton and Catherine moore; on a death record and death cert I found Samuel listed with Lee as middle name, and is son of Newton and Catherine(Lock)Moore.
Samuel A you have listed here and Samuel Lee both have exact birth/death dates. Both are married to a Florence.

Wanda: When I have more time I will pull out where I received my information. It is on a website that documented the BINKLEY/BINGELLI origins from Suisse (Switzerland) via Alsace-Lorriane. I will try to get to that some time at the end of this March. I am covered up the first half of the month.

Tina Everett
I know. There are many who use that name and there is no way to track them. Evidently in this case, someone familiar with the burial. Why don't you set up a cemetery and Call it the Everett Family Cemetery - Saundersville Ferry Road or Everett Family - with name of the oldest burial there and in the Cemetery description add that it is on Saundersville Ferry Rd. That will distinguish it from the other one. Then you can move Tina there and add any others that you wish.

RE: Sarah (Sallie) Hudson
Hello Wanda. The information I have states that Sally and William Goodin had one son, she died from child birth complications, then Goodin married Rhoda Pemberton, they had two sons, she also died from child birth complications, then he married Amy and they had six children.
Sally and Amy were sisters to my great-grandpa, Josiah Hudson.

Her husband name is Fred Bryant, He was the son of Peter Bryant. Peter was a brother to Edmon Bryant who was my Great Grandfather. Peter and his wife Sarah lived a couple of miles from me. They are buried on that farm. I go to their graves sometimes.

Isaiah Pemberton I
Thank you for the information. I have made the correction. I rely on Dan Buckley's research for most of the data. I had relied on one of Dan's sites (worldconnect/rootsweb) that had not been updated with the new information on George's three wives.
Thanks again.

RE: 87675098 John Pemberton
Well, I learned something new today. I reordered all the books I could find on Boone Co., MO. cemeteries that were check-out-able and got 1 I hadn't had yet. TOMBSTONE RECORDS OF BOONE COUNTY, MISSOURI. I don't know how I missed it. There is another one in today ready for pickup. So far, I haven't found the one with Pembertons in it, BUT I did find just a Starke Cemetery with 2 men in it... Starkes, of course, a father and son, and in little tiny hand writing next to it it says The farm of John Pemberton.

Wow. That was back in 2012 and I'm an old woman, but because I didn't say what newspaper it was from, it wasn't. It had to have been a book from the genealogical library in Independence. They allow me to check them out from my local branch and have them at home. This book had to have been one that was cemeteries in Boone County, Mo.
I looked back at my library account to see if it would show past checkouts, and, alas, no. However it did give me the names of those that can be checked out and there are 3...

Cemetery records of Boone Countyt, Missouri by Ellsberry, Elizabeth Prather, 1923
Tombstone records of Boone County, Missouri by Evans, Rella Bright
Tombstone transcriptions of Boone County, Missouri by Floyd H. Strader

Would you like me to check them out again and see what I can find? It will take a few days for them to get them out to my branch, but I would be happy to do that, if you'd like me to.

Most libraries will send you obituaries for a fee. You don't have to visit in person.

I found the obituary for John Wesley Pemberton and it does confirm your information. Thanks for your help.

Levi Lane married to Matilda Pemberton from Casey Co KY, I'm not sure if he is a cousin or son of Henry Lane, Henry's parents are Harvey Lane and Rhoda Pemberton. There are many Lane-Pemberton marries.

Hodges Council
Hi Wanda,
Thanks for your input to improve the known data for Hodges Council’s birth date and place.
I took over management of this key memorial in my lineage from the late Betty Richardson, and I have not (yet) changed any information that she originally posted. I added the bottom half of the biography below the dashed line with information provided to me from another descendant, Roanna. I am reluctant to change the birth year that Betty Richardson listed for Hodges Council until I have a chance to dig further into the available records. Most of my reluctance is, until I do my own research, is out of respect for Betty Richardson. I am grateful for the information you provided on your “flowers and note.” (I am also quite surprised by the growing number of other flowers/notes posted by other descendants!)
In preparing to dig into available information on Hodges Council, I have purchased the book “Hodges Councill of Virginia and Descendants” mentioned by Betty Richardson in the Hodges Council virtual memorial biography. While I have not yet had a chance to meticulously dig into the book, page-by-page, I can tell you that on page 20 it states:

“2G 1 Hodges Councill, the date of his birth unknown. His last will dated and proved August 9, 1699 in I of W. Co., Va. lists legacies to his Children:
3G 1 son Hodges Councill (II) b. before 1668, (as indicated in the will of Daniel Boucher R. in I. of W. Co.) In 1704 he paid a Quit Rent on 420 acres.
[3G2 son John Councill . . .]”

This is evidence that there was a Hodges Council, Sr. and a Hodges Council, Jr.
That’s all I am prepared to share with you on short notice with little time to dig in.

I request that you not consider the Find-a-Grave record for Hodges Council as “confusing,” but rather, think of it as a source of collaborative information by a growing number of interested descendants to piece together the true story of Hodges Council. Your input is key among them.

Finally, you should know that when I sent this missive to the contact email address that you've provided in your member profile, it was returned as undeliverable.

This record is confusing for Hodges Council. The original entry shows he was born 1643 in Devon, England but a comment down below by Roanna says he was born in 1650 in Virginia. I am trying to verify people in my Ancestry tree and wonder which one it is. Hope you can shed some light on this.

RE: Donna Cool
Not sure if I ever answered your Find A Grave query re Donna Marie Cool ... I have found 3 marriages for her. The one to Fayazzo was the first. She married 2nd to Theodore B Stevens in Sonoma County July 27, 1969. The 3rd marriage was to James H Hart in Mendocino County on Oct. 5, 1985.
That's all I know. I am not related to her in any way.

RE: James and Harold Junior Wells
Wanda, The James in the census appears to be in error for Harold Junior "Hal" Wells. The majority of the family called him Junior and some Hal but no James. A couple of years ago I asked Harold Junior "Hal" Wells if he was named after his father (Harry Wells) given that he was named Junior. He (Harold Junior "Hal" Wells) replayed the store of how he came to be named, His brother Marion had a friend named Harold Junior (unknown last name) that fell into a hog scolding vat and died as a result of the burns received, this occurred around the same time that Harry and Lottie were expecting their last baby, Marion asked his parents if he could name the baby if it was a boy, which it was and Marion named him after his friend Harold Junior. That cleared up a lot of confusion on my part. Don

RE: Charlotte Ellen (Lottie) Pemberton
Wanda Charlotte Ellen "Lottie" Pemberton in my maternal grandmother, wife of Harry Henry Wells and they married 22 Jun 1919 in Delta, Delta Co. CO., the daughter of James Elijah Pemberton and Mary L Bland (I met James only ones around 1955 at apx. 9 yoa & have a veg recollection of him being slender and tall wearing bib overalls and a hat. We, my parents with my grandparents and my brother, drove to the house that James's was building or remodeling on the southern Oregon coast, as I remember it he was living in the house alone.) Harry and Lottie had ten children as follows:
Marion Herbert Wells, 12 Apr 1921 - 25 Feb 1993.
Leona Emeline Wells, 20 Jul 1922 - 30 Aug 1924.
Sylvia Elizabeth Wells, 20 Mar 1925 - 08 Jun 2009.
Ruby Maxine Wells, 05 Oct 1927 - 16 Oct 1927
Margaret Arlene Wells, 08 Aug 1928 - 20 Dec 2010.
Rosemarie Wells, 1930 still living in OR.
Harold Junior Wells, 1932 still Living in OR.
Carl Laverne Wells, 16 Oct 1934 - 26 Dec 1935.
Roscoe Wells, 02 Mar 1936 -02 Mar 1936.
Boliver Wells,02 Mar 1936 -02 Mar 1936.
The surviving siblings were sure that one of the twins was names Roscoe and the other either Boliver or Sydney but the majority thought it was Boliver, no family documents to confirmed which. I have very little information on the James Elijah Pemberton side of the family aside from that on his Obit.. I am not sure if the Jim you are referring to in the 1940 censes Lottie's father of her brother in-law James Gilmore "Jim" Wells, 07 Mar 1920 - 22 May 1986 I don't know if Jim lived with Harry and Lottie at the time of the censes but probable not as the and his wife Gwyneth were married in Jul 1939, so if Gwyneth is also listed on the censes, then it is him. I have family photos of Lottie if you are interested let me know how to get them to you. If I may ask where is James E Pemberton in relation to your family tree??
Thank You Don Boatwright

Lynn Williams
Lula May Ostrom
Hi Wanda. I don't know who Lula's husband was; however, she is buried next to Herbert Ostrom, who was about 15 years younger than she was. If the difference in their ages was less, I would assume he was her husband. In any case, he may have been - I just don't know.

The Lula Mae Pemberton Huffington memorial appears to be a duplicate made several years after the memorial I made in 2006. I have contacted the person who made that memorial to let them know. If it is a duplicate, they should remove it.

Yes, I've removed about half of my contributions, due to the angry and nasty emails I've been getting for three years through this site.
It's not worth the trouble and heartburn people are giving me over a volunteer project when I'm transcribing what is on the grave markers, but people want to get nasty and report me for site violations. I'd rather exchange information privately with those who can be decent, such as yourself.
