Ella Sawdy

Hello! Is Ella Sawdy related to you? If so, would you like me to transfer her memorial to you? I believe family should be cared for by family. Its easier to add info when you want to. :)

Mary Schwank Soddy 1842-1926
Actually I think that William Schwank is her father, not stepfather.

RE: Mary Francis Donaghy Soddy 150494715
She is buried along with a lot of other Soddys -- John W, Elsie, Amelia & Frank, and more. But she is buried right up next to William Schwank, who may be her stepfather.

RE: Mary Francis Donaghy Soddy 150494715
OK, don't really know, BUT he died in 1885 and she died 41 years later in 1926. In the meanwhile the spelling of the name is changed. Happens all the time. I sent you an obit last August for Frank, who spelled his name Soddy. It's all good, it's all the same. I haven't been out to the cemetery since then, but if you want me to check back, I will.

RE: Vaughn & Donna Fendre
My pleasure. It was so nice to see that their parents are right beside them.
Yes, we were in Lake Odessa on Saturday and the snow was covering a good portion of the flat stones in the shady sections. Made for slightly difficult searching, but it ended up being a nice and productive trip.

Sawdy Infants
Their suggestion:
Where did you come up with this entry? I have spent many hours and miles looking this entry up and find nothing. The swexton of this cemetery has no record of any 3 Sawdy babys being buried her. Please advise.

I found this information either by going there myself, or from a cemetery reference book obtained by the cemetery.

There is no ref # for the photo. I was merely asking you if you could add the photo that you took of Zion Cemetery to Anna Schwarzwalder. I was asking this because her name is on the placque that you took a photo of and posted as the cemetery photo. Her memorial # is 101106431.

Anna Schwarzwalder in Zion Cemetery
I was wondering if you could add your photo of the Zion Cemetery to Anna Schwarzwalder's memorial? I am assuming that there is no headstone for her.

RE: Sarah Sawdey
No problem at all. I am on a mission to update all of the cemeteries in Lafayette County. I started about 2 months ago and I do whatever I have to in order to restore the respect of these families & stones. I have learned to put a crowbar & shovel in my car & a pair of gloves... my husband thinks I'm nuts but I am sure the people that drive by must think I'm some crazy person too, but I am just doing what the groundskeeper should of done years ago.

If I come across Elijah, Catherine or any other of the Sawdey family members still missing I will certainly link them for you and add any picture I can.
Let me know when you visit, I have several resources to replace Sarah's stone in its' proper place, which I can not do since I am not a family member.

Best Holiday Wishes !!

Catherine E. Binkley/Fourman
In regards to your message about the duplicate names:
Catherine E Binkley
Your memorial #115376142 is a direct duplicate of # 31505442. Since I didn't create the original I don't believe I can add. I sent her a message if she wishes to add some of my info. Just a note: Since Catherine Binkley Culbertson was married twice and the last time being a Fourman, if they look under Fourman without knowing the Culbertson name they won't be able to find her.

Thank you

photo removal
I am not sure what photo you are referring to. The large Mitchell stone sits in from of several little ground stones which are all part of Mitchel family. What is "pathetic" about these 2 photos?

Sawdey - Rockton Cemetery
50862208 Edna Sawdey.

David, I took the photo today for the Sawdey. Edna Sawdey the one I took the photos of I think may be a duplitcate of the Edith you had listed. Edna is the only Sawdey listed in the Rockton Cemetery.

Hi there,
No this is not a duplicate. It is a cenotaph and allowed.
from the faqs
"A cenotaph is a tomb or a monument erected in honor of a person or group of persons whose remains are buried elsewhere. It can also be the initial marker for a person who has since been interred elsewhere."

Hi David. I attempted to fulfill your request. Did not find a stone so I went to the Leoni Township Office. Arthur and Oliver Bonney own four plots in the Leoni Cemetery. The only one buried there is Jessie and there is no marker for her. I took a picture of where the plots are and I can post it if you like. Sorry. Have a good day. Susan.

RE: Sawdey you posted
Hi, apparently I didn't get a picture of Lillian other than what you can see in the other photo. I don't think there was a death date, which is why I didn't post it.

Joan Sawdy
There was a bouquet of artificial flowers at Joan Sawdy's grave maker, so I took photos with and without the flowers and added both to Joan's memorial page. Please feel free to remove one or the other if you prefer.
