William C Milligan
Hi Jeannette,
Thanks for posting the photo for William C Milligan. It's a great photo and I'm quite sure it is the right one. I created a memorial for Mary A Milligan based on the same photo. If you still have the photo, would you post it to Mary's memorial too?

Hootin' Anni
Mary A. Neel
Hello. I'm in search of a photo of a grave marker. It's of Mary A. Neel [Mary Ann] She was married to William Neel in 1797 and lived and raised her family in Guernsey County Ohio. I found William Neel's grave photo but none of Mary Ann's. Her son [also buried in Birmingham Cemetery along with William Neel] is Asberry Neel of which there is a photo of his grave also. Is there not one of Mary Ann's? I'm sure it would be in the same vicinity of William's and Asberry's. [Asberry's wife if Huldah Neel]...none of her grave's photo listed here.

If you could find a volunteer to search for and photograph Mary's and/or Huldah's for a genealogy project I'm publishing, I'd be very appreciative.

Mary A. Neel would probably have died in the late 1870s.

Thanks again.

RE: Mary Neel
Hi Jeanette,

Is it possible the marker said 45 years and not 15 years of age? If so, this marker may possibly be for Mary Pauline Beal (Oct 1820 - Feb 10 1866). She was married to a Lee Neel (1818 - 1902). The date of death I have is February 10, 1866 however, the information came from another user but not sourced.

I am showing that Lee Neel married again in 1867 to a Rebecca M. and (per a 1900 Census) he and his new wife were residing in Clay Township, Tuscarawas, Ohio. Unfortunately, I do not have any death records to confirm burial location for Lee and/or Rebecca at this time.

Based on this information it makes sense that Mary would not be buried with Lee and also why Lee does not have a marker next to Mary or within the Birmingham Cemetery.

Jeanette, I transferred the two graves to you. I will send another pic without the date on it (I just noticed the wrong year!) Martha's sister Lilly Powell Cline grave is not to far from these if you ever visit Lakewood. Bill

RE: Birmingham Cemetery
Most if not all of the Neels were farmers - figures. I appreciate whatever you are able to post. Your photos will help preserve the Neel family tree long after those graves have deteriorated so I thank you for that.

Thank you so much for locating and photographing the tombstone. Living in Wisconsin, we go get to Iowa to do some searching but not to Ohio. I and my husband (it's his great, great, great grandma) are very greatful and appreciative.
