My wife is the great granddaughter of Franklin and Emma Bryant. We recently traveled to Eagle Rock hoping to visit the grave site. However, the property was marked "No Trespassing" and so we only got as far as the entrance. We would be willing to purchase pictures of the headstone/grave markers if possible.

Benjamin & Catherine Griffith
Could you please link Benjamin #84189876 to his wife, Catherine #84189856 and edit their names from B to Benjamin and C to Catherine? They are my 7X great grandparents. Many thanks. Benjamin served in the Revolutionary War from Bedford County in the Militia. Blessings.

Minnie Bryant
Hi Roscoe,
It appears that you may have some connections to Emma E. Montgomery wife of Frank Preston Bryant. I think that they had a daughter, Minnie Bryant who married a relative of mine, Hawsie Hilet Truslow. Can you verify that Minnie was the daughter of Emma E. Montgomery Bryant and married to Hawsie Truslow?

RE: Jonathan Montgomery
Hi Roscoe
Yes I am aware of the instructions on deaths, but I have never been able to verify where that death date came from. I have found no death listing on the mortality schedules for that county or any other county in Texas. If I could verify I would post it. I will not post erroneous dates that someone has just put out there and others take it as fact, too much of that has been done on the Jonathan Montgomery family.
Just a note, I have never ran onto that situation on the census records in all my years of research, no dead people have been posted as all my death dates are verified, guess I have been lucky till now. I don't have Samuel's memorial, start with Memorial # 123340713 and go backwards to Samuel. They also tie into Jonathan's family at the "Carr" family.

Best Regards

Jonathan Montgomery
Hi Roscoe,
Nice to hear from you and thanks you for the mail and question. The Census of Red River Co., Texas was taken July 19, 1870, the un-confirmed death date of Jonathan is July 11, 1870. I have a problem with that since he is alive and kicking on the 19th.
So as you pointed out and are aware of the differences, I just can't bring myself to give him that death date when he was still alive. I rather have no death date then incorrect data.
I have to say as I have researched there are many errors in transcription dates and I try and find the original to compare. I just finished doing a ton of research on Samuel Montgomery line of memorials, if you know anyone that is in direct relation with him I will be more then happy to transfer all his descendants that I have completed. This is my way of "process of elimination" Ill never get it done before I die, but a good attempt. LOL

Keep the questions up, the only way to find the truth.

Zennie Sellers
Hello Roscoe & thanks for writing. I found her maiden name under the 1981 obituary for Thomas Sellers. I can send a copy of that obituary to your email address that you have listed on your page if you would like. Also since they are family would you like the memorials transferred to your care? Just please let me know and I'll help you anyway that I can.

montgomery's, franklin co., va
hi, I came across some more Montgomery's today buried in Franklin County, Va in the Ferrum area, none of them are listed in findagrave. When I get the correct name of the cemetery, I will list them. Included are Sam Henry Montgomery, Willie Brown Montgomery, Liza Montgomery, Mamie Montgomery, Grady Montgomery and a few more. Are any of these ones you are trying to find, Larry

Jon Montgomery
Hi, have made the updates you wanted, I think I have got it correctly on the children, I already had some linked, so I didn't add them in bio. Also the marker is spelled Jon, instead of John, so I really don't know which is correct.
My friend Liz Eanes photographed the Montgomery cemetery yesterday that you sent her to, when she has them on line, I will link Jon to his father Samuel, but she mentioned something about the mothers name may be wrong, just let me know and if correct, I will link to it, Larry.
Liz has been with me to the cemetery that Jon is buried at, it is strange as it seems to be a pretty good distance from where she was trying to explain where the one she went to yesterday was. Back then lots of people really didn't move around that much.
