Thank you so much for posting the grave marker of James Munguvan/Mongovin (spelled a ton of different ways.) I have a copy of his last will and testament, created only 10 days before he died. I didn't have a death date for him prior to finding your post, so I really appreciate the information. He was the uncle to my father's (maternal) grandfather, Patrick Shanahan from County Clare, Ireland. The Shanahan's came over in about 1891 and James Munguvan gave them their start in America. I am trying to trace his roots in Ireland. Do you happen to know his wife, Mary's, maiden name? Sincerely,

Francesca Cumero

I am sorry but have no information about his wife.

Regarding the above mentioned gentleman we created his memorial from the burial record found on the cemetery website. We don't have any other data on him. We did find this record which could be him; however, it does not designate a branch of the military.

Leroy Griffiths
Hi thanks for the information you've sent on Leroy, I've added it to his memorial. I just wanted to clarify some information you had sent. You mentioned that Leroy died 10 days after his arrival on Utah Beach but the date you noted was he arrived on April 6, 1944 and died June 16, 1944. I just wanted to clarify what the correct month is for his arrival and his death. Should that be April or June?

Thanks,
Amanda

Sorry, this person is not related to me. I just took pictures in the cemetery and created the memorial when I posted the picture. The information I used on the memorial was the info on the headstone and info I found in Ancestry.com. --Janet
