Unfortunately, he has not been answering emails for the past 6-9 months - the belief is he has become seriously ill. His project was to photograph all cemeteries in Allegheny County and it is unlikely he would have further information.

Sorry, I have no further information. I was assisting a gentleman who lives in Allegheny County to get his photos uploaded to Find-A-Grave.

RE: Nora Bell Thompson
Nora was my Grandmother, Callie Thompson Johnson's, sister. Nora lived in Hillsboro, Texas with her sister, Willie Thompson. The Thompson family of Will Thompson lived on a farm in Hill county near Peoria and moved into HIllsboro when Will became to sick to farm. They lived in the same little box house on the west side of Hillsboro with their Mother, Sara Bell. They continued to live there after Sara's death until both of their deaths. Nora worked as a maid at an old hotel in Hillsboro until it closed and then as far as I know did not work after that. I visited them fairly regularly as my Dad took an interest in helping with some of their day to day problems.

I wish I could be of more help. On nice days I go to out of the way cemeteries and try taking pictures of all the stones and posting them.
I have learned in this area if you can get a hold of the cemetery association for that cemetery they will have a lot more information.

RE: 13217071
Thanks, Debby. I've added the new data to Bertha Austin Hodges' page. Do you have an subscription or access at a local library? Do you know who Bertha's parents were? How exciting for you to uncover all this research on a side of your family previously unknown!

Please look again at your grandfather's information. RE: Joseph Samuel Hodges
[# 63076918.]

Today, I was able to obtain from the Tulsa Public Library, the information on his death notice in the Tulsa Tribune, an evening newspaper, that stated that he died on Friday, 23 MAR 1984, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Note: The Tulsa Tribune no longer is published. The Tulsa Public Library could only find your grandfather's death notice in the Tulsa Tribune. There was no obituary published in either the Tulsa Tribune or Tulsa World. We now only have one newspaper, the Tulsa World, which remains a morning newspaper. FYI: The present-day population of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is approx. 400,000.

Also today, Monday, 27 DEC 2010, I went to the Memorial Park Cemetery and took the picture of his monument, along with the Hodges family monument.

I hope this helps to see this additional information on your family.

Best regards,
Ken Oliver

I was checking some of your links and saw that your Aunt died recently. Perhaps you haven't seen her obit. Hope this is helpful:

Sorry, Deb. Perhaps that was a poor choice of phrase. What I meant was, I only know what I found when at the cemetery from the photos I took and uploaded. I am not aware of any database of burials at that location. But why not contact the cemetery office (yes, it has one. It is one of Tulsa's biggest/nicest cemeteries and well kept/gated) and ask for contact info for surviving kin. And have you left messages on the Tulsa message boards at Rootsweb and

Hi Debby - I am sorry but I do not know anything about your Hodges, other than the grave data I uploaded from Tulsa's Memorial Park Cemetery. If you would like to take over their pages, I can transfer them to you. Good luck with your research!

It appears you may be on the right track. I do not know anything about the individual. I entered his memorial, and looked up the death cert. I hope you find out about him. Let me know if you find him to be your person. I wish you the best in your search. You might want to get his obit from the paper and find what they have to say about him, and or his wife Martha.

RE: James Alexander Copeland
Please see Zeph Niah Copeland [#10405102].

I have linked his parents as follows:

James Alexander Copeland [Father] # 48165600.

Cornellia (Henson) Copeland [Mother] # 48165716.

Note: Gurney Copeland was the son of Zeph Niah Copeland and Lula Belle (Glidewell) Copeland.

Gurney Copeland married my great-aunt, Nancy Lucinda "Louie" (Cauthron) Copeland.

Hope this helps some.

Best regards,
Ken Oliver

RE: James Alexander Copeland
My great grandmother was Mary Jane Copeland Smith. James Alexander Copeland would have been her 1st cousin, Zeph Copeland would have been her 2nd cousin, Fountain Copeland would have been her 2nd cousin twice removed, Gwendolyn Copeland would have been her 3rd cousin and, your father Joseph would have been her 4th cousin. If you belong to I have a lot of information on the Copeland family.
Thank you,
