David C. Powers - Oak Hill Cemetery

Thank you so much so sending the article about the two colliding passenger trains in Michigan, involving David Powers! A little investigating revealed that David died the day of that article in Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids of shock due to the injuries he received in the accident. I have placed this article in his 'Find A Grave' memorial. Thank you again!

Best Regards,

Mike Cronk

RE: Mrs Ethan Earl newspaper obits
I'm sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I only asked if you could place the newspaper article you have on Mrs Ethan Earl onto Phoebe Lightley Earl's real grave that has the headstone in the Fairview Cemetery in Oakland, Freeborn, Minnesota.
Thank you.
Margaret

Mrs Ethan Earl newspaper obits
Could you please attach these articles to Phoebe Ann Lightley Earl # 11551694 that is in the Fairview Cemetery in Oakland, Freeborn, Minnesota?
The second obit clearly states that she would be buried in the cemetery in Oakland.
Her husband married Rhoda Irene Wait in 1882 and had 7 more children. Rhoda Irene died 21 Feb 1944 and as yet I have not found an obit nor the burial place for her. Three of her children, Eva Belle Earl Smith, Nellie Blie Earl Smith and Norman Harvey Earl are buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Mower, Minnesota as is Ethan Earl, spouse of Phoebe than Rhoda. I am still working on the other children, Eva Mae Earl Dolan Fortune Gibson, twin of Eva Belle, Florence Augusta Earl LeBarron, died 16 Apr. 1955 in Florida Pearl Martha Earl, died 29 Jan, 1963 in California and Irene Earl, who died 10 Oct 1962 in West Virginia.
Two of Pheobe and Ethans children William and Julia are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, One, Walter, is buried in Fairview with his mother. One son, Eugene in buried in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Glenwood, Pope, Minnesota. The eldest daughter Anna who died 10 Jan 1944 has not been located at this time.
Any help in locating graves of any of these people would be appreciated.

RE: Alice Greenfield
I have read several articles about this murder. At the time it was the trial of the times. Orlando and his family felt sure that he would not be found guilty of Alice's murder because it was the third trial before he was convicted. Yes, very sad circumstances to say the least. In one article it said that two children sat on his lap but I have not been able to fine any names.

Alice Greenfield
"Nathan Orlando Greenfield is not buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell (as newspapers reported). He was hanged at the Onondaga County jail in Syracuse; his family had arranged for his body to be shipped to Richland (sometimes called "Richland Junction," at that time - there was a good-sized station and railyard). Orlando's father picked it up, and after the funeral the family buried him in an unmarked grave on their property - and that's where he still is. There is no stone."

-----
Son of Henry or Richard Greenfield
Executed by hanging, Syracuse NY

His wife Alice Bloodgood, said to be an orphan, was murdered and Orlando was hung for it. Charles Grinnels later admitted the murder.
