Gilliam Walston
You may be getting your Gilliam's confused.
The Gilliam of 1877-1949 is buried at Mt. Pisgah.
He is not linked but you will have to contact Rusty Walston. He is the memorial manager.
The parents of Gilliam Walston (memorial #68848431)have not been identified.
No birth or death dates have been found.

RE: Hey!
Sorry that it has taken me soo long to reply. To Answer your question, I'm related to the Hackworths from Eastern Kentucky. Andrew Jackson is related to my Grandmother, who was a Snipes from Prestonburg.

Beth (Shupe) Sheets
I am Maud Marlene (Alexander) Shupe's granddaughter. She is missing from the list of (A)Della Alexander's children, but I believe she was the eldest surviving child. I believe Della had a child stillborn, possibly before my grandmother. My father was Herbert Jackson Shupe (m. Dec. 22, 1946 to Frances Charlene Swan) and is buried in Wilson Cemetery, Newark, Ohio. He was an only child, and my grandparents would have had another son (younger than Dad) but he was stillborn.
Some of the information about David and Della's children came to us (my sister and me) through the settlement of Wayne Bell's estate. He was Janet's only child, and he passed on with no spouse or children.
My sister lives in Newark, Ohio and I live in Heath, Ohio. My husband and I have two sons and one grandson.

RE: Hey!
My grandmother was raised in Bonanza, KY (Floyd County) and our family are direct decedents of the Snipes, Hackworths, and Conleys (different spellings of the last name over the last 200 years). I've noticed that some of your posts on the Hackworth's are my family members ;-)

RE: Re # 70301065
The cemetery photo I took years ago was accepted for use on Findagrave. I think there is an option for the owner to request cemetery photos not be shown on their memorials, but one cannot delete a submitted cemetery photo...Thank-Brent
p.s. I want a Vette like Robert's!

Abe Altfater
Suzanne, did you actually know Abe Altfater? He was my father's brother, lived in Memphis when I was growing up, but our families were rarely in touch.

You are apparently related to his wife Edyth, who I probably met 3 times in my life--they stayed separate from our family and his sister Rose's family, who also lived in Memphis.

I would be curious if you have more information about him.

Thank you.

Transfer completed
Their suggestion:
Hi, if you would, could you please transfer Brenda Justus' memorial to me. I am a relative of hers. If you can't transfer her memorial, please link Brenda to her mother, Anna Virginia Coyle Find A Grave #6879378, and her father, Ambrose Miller Find A Grave #6879370.

Many thanks,
Suzanne Thornburg

Hi Suzanne...hope all is well with you and your family. I've completed all the transfers you've requested. Glad I was able to "find" your ancestor Henry!!

As far as the Alexanders...My Great Grandfather Thomas Alexander lived in Adams county Ohio and unfortunatly, the courthouse there had a fire and they lost all of their records so he's a big brick wall for me. I don't know where he came from or his parents, etc. I'd love to find out someday. If you have any record of a Thomas Alexander in your records then it's possible that we may be distant cousins :) Genealogy is fun but can be very frustrating sometimes :)

Take care,

Thank you for letting me know that my memorial was a duplicate. I have deleted it and linked his wife to the other memorial. His wife had been one of my sister's favorite teachers.

Jeremiah "Jerry" Hackworth
Hello Suzanne,

Our family has/had a photo of Jerry that was so treasured it was put in a safe place, and is currently missing. At a family reunion I was scanning pics, the wind in the shelter was blowing paper everywhere, I tucked the small photo under the scanner for protection. As I was returning photos to their owners there was Jerry's, and I returned it to the owner, not scanned! We haven't seen it since. By any chance does your family have one of him? We'll continue to look, but it's been two years now.... It sure would be nice to go to the reunion tomorrow and find it's been rediscovered.

I thought I'd ask, I saw your note that you were family. Thanks, Darla

David R. Cheesman, Sen.
Joe Thornburg cousin and buddy
Hello Suzanne:
Joseph Franklin "Joe" Thornburg (1926-1984) was my first cousin and a friend since childhood.
My mom, Irma (Thornburg) Cheesman actually helped her mother (Mary Jane Sexton Thornburg)raise Joe and Byron Thornburg for a few years after William "Willie" and Bonnie Thornburg divorced.
I have our direct Thornburg genealogy back to King Ethelred the Unready of England.
I will be pleased to send you copies of our Thornburg lineage from my DOSSIER II: RELATED FAMILIES manuscripts.
