|Patricia Brittingham Secrest||Henry C. Kennedy|
Sorry to trouble you. I have been researching one James Kenady who married Anna Westbrook in Lumpkin County on 4/15/1841. The Westbrooks are my primary interest as they are part of my son-in-law's family. There is little information about them so I am searching related Dawson/Lumpkin county families as well. James Kenady was born about 1821 and supposedly died in California about 1852. I recently found a drop-down genealogy genealogy file for the Kennedy family at the Dawson County Library. The file contained a family history entitle "The Henry Kennedy Family of Lumpkin and Dawson Counties" by one Betty Allen. The author indicates that James Kenady was the son of your Henry Kennedy and lists three other children. Nancy, Lucinda and Cynthia. Per this book, Nancy Kennedy married Abraham Duff and is buried in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Her memorial is also on Find A Grave. Could you please let me know what you think of this information? (Be nice). Are you interested in this book? It is only 19 pages long and I am thinking of making a photocopy which I would be happy to share with you. I have not reviewed all of the information in it yet. There is also a Dawson County cemetery transcription book available at the library. Once I have finished with the Dawson County library I am going to check the drop-down files at the lumpkin County library which may have even more information.
Please let me know what you think,
Patricia Brittingham Secrest (member #46936403)

Thanks for the appreciative comments. I lived in Howell Dormitory at Georgia Tech for a while. It doesn't make me family, but it did make me appreciate the importance of the Howell family plot at Westview.

Thank you so much, George, for posting that image. I have what must be a poor xerox of that image- it looks like a silhouette. Not worth keeping. I am going to add your image to my database.

Thank you for the nice note.
Would love to be added to your friends list, I see my friend Anna O'Quinn is there also.
I have more info I'm sending to your e-mail.
If you would like John transferred to you, I would be happy to do so as this is not a family member.

Thanks for adding the obituary to James' memorial. I added a note about the incorrect month shown on his gravestone and supported by the obituary.
Are you related to James?

Just wanted to let you know I places pics on your memorials (Anne #125389369 and Thomas #125390252). Also in this family plot was a footstone for Luenett. I created the memorial (# 129844859) but wasn't sure if Anne and Thomas were her parents. I like to link kids with their parents so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Angie

Hi George, You're very welcome for the Halsey links. I was delighted to find the beautiful BIOS for Frederick Robert and Emma Gertrude Keep Halsey. Thank you! Agreed, Find-A-Grave is a valuable source for family researchers-- certainly has been enormously so for me. Thanks Again, andanother1

Hello again George. Thanks for all the photos and obits you have added to my memorials. I saw that you posted an older obit for one from the Greenville News. Do you have a link to the old Greenville News obits, if so, would you please share it with me. I have the link for the Spartanburg Herald Journal obits, but not for the Greenville News. I live in upper Spartanburg/Greenville Counties area and it sure would help not having to run to the Greenville Library every time I need a copy of and obit, regards.

Howdy! I have made the corrections and added the info. Indian Hill Township is not listed for Abbeville as a city. Then I linked her to her parents and transferred Mary Ann to you. I will look and see if any of the photos that I couldn't read might match Mary Elizabeth and check the # of the photo to George and Mary Ann and IF I have something that appears to be hers, I will post it.
Doing okay so far with the other issue.

It is my privilege to visit the graves of precious loved ones. I know from experience that seeing the actual photo of the headstone of someone you love is most meaningful. This has happened to us with grandparents buried in other states -- volunteers who photographed those burial sites. We will carry on for as long as possible. Thank you for your kindness!

I have made the transfers of the Jansen's to you from Magnolia Cemetery. I am also working on Hillcrest Cemetery and there is a couple of Jansen's there as well.
Charles A Jansen, Jr 1900-1961
Ruth P Jansen 1904-1979
Are they by chance related as well. If so let me know and I will transfer
Added by Lexie on May 01, 2014 4:19 PM
I am going to approve all the corrections you have made to the Jansens in Hillcrest Cemetery in Augusta. If you are related and would like transfers please let me know. I'm not related but am just trying to photograph the cemetery. Would be happy to transfer them to any family member.
