RE: William Durack (#70727060)
Good morning Mr. Gernant. I received your note regarding the specific burial location for William Durack. I thank you for that information, and I added it. I also noticed you referred to him as "Bill", so I added that nickname as well. He served in the same World War II combat outfit as did my beloved late father (the 325th GIR / Company A), and I am doing all I can to find, honor, and/or memorialize as many of these brave soldiers as I can find. If you have any additional biographical information on him, I would be pleased to look at it. You can just send any additional details to me through his memorial, if you don't mind. I sure do appreciate your thoughtfulness sir!

Grave photo error
I have very much appriciated all the grave photos you have posted for Rahn and Ristau, and related families. Thank you so much! I have found one that has been posted in error though. For memorial #81634689, for Wilhelmina C. Rahn, married to Albert Rudolph Ristau, you have posted a grave photo of the shared grave of Julius Ristau and his wife, Wilhelmina.
I thought you would like to know.

RE: Names
I may have looked at the name wrong and will check on it. I did go ahead and change it though and did reflect the dates you gave me also. I think it will be nice weather soon and I would love to meet with you. My daughter who has caught the passion also may come to. I am interested also in the Brody name and the situation around that. I have only heard I am sure the wrong info on it.

RE: Names

If you are the care taker of Henry frels you may want to add 107483732. ( Rosine Frels ) She is the daughter theat died in childhood and is burried in the small family plot on the old homestead. John G and his mother in-law are the only two other burrird there.

Let me know what you think.

RE: Names
I have sentfeelers to that areas chamber of commerce in hopes of getting info back on anyone that would do any geneology type of work or have any records. I have not heard anything back and it has been a while to say the least. May be a language problem. I also wonder if Frels is a short version for something else as they did that a lot in the time the brothers coming here. I will keep hunting and we must meet and go over the records we have. I have some hand written ones from a couple of great uncles that may have some info. They were passed ofut to family members at a family reunion that used to be held at the Silvis park when I was young. Do you remember those as they were Frels reumions?

My mohters name is Audrey Bush. Her paents were Virgil and Wilhamine (Dailey) Ashdown. Her mother was Melinda (Frels) Dailey and her father was John Theodore Frels. His father was John Gerhart Frels the brother of your granfather. They came from Germany and I am trying hard to locate information about their parents. The only thing I know for sure was they were orphaned at an early age and was shipped from family members often till they were old enought to leave and get on their own.

RE: Anna Frels
I would love to meet some day and take you for a tour of the upper Hampton area. I have a pretty good record of the brothers Henry and John and that area. They settled there and as you know died there also. Lets plan on doing this and sharing any notes at all we may have for each other.

I will check for pictures also. Not a lot of them for my branch until the one I meantioned in the book. My gg grandfaherJohn Theodore was orphaned before he was born. John Gerhardt died and by family lore may even have been murdered. I will fill you in on that when we talk!

I would love to meet and chat with you!

RE: Anna Frels
I live in the Quad Cities in Illinois. I will pull my Feels records and see what I can find. Where do you live?. I have two copies of the book. One being my great grandmothers. It is interesting to say the least. I am of the family at the back of the book. John Theodore Frels family. There is a picture in the book of that family and my g grandmother is in it. Would love to help you with anything I can. Are you aware that Henrys house still stands to this day? Please keep in touch.

Anna Frels
If I a m not mistaken Anna Frels is the daughter of Herny Frels of Hampton IL. My GGG granfather was his brother John Gerhardt Frels. I am looking for info on him and was wondering if you have anything on him or even know of him.

I was also wondering if you have a copy of the book A Sailor goes Farming? It was written by one or two of Anna's children and is a wonderful history of the Hauberg Frels family.

I would be thankful for any info you may have!
