|Everett Baranowski||Alabama Faulkner Grave Update|
Dana, someone recently unearthed Alabama's full grave!!! (It wasn't me.) Don't know who it was, but I passed by the Falkner family plot in late April, glanced in, and was shocked and excited to see the full grave unearthed! I contacted Larry Wells immediately and even he was unaware that it had been unearthed! I have finally sat down to upload the photos of her grave and post an update to her profile. Thought you should be the first to know that new photos have been posted. ~Everett :-)

You had requested pics of Mary, Ephraim, Orrin and Ruth Parks from Harris Cemetery in Brookfield, NY. The burials are actually in Beaver Meadow Cemetery, Town of Hamilton, Madison County, NY. I have posted the pics on that site. Ruth's Find A Grave number for that cemetery is 23129894, just to help you find it easier. Hope this helps. Joyce

It is the Thomas McLenaghan that died in 2006, not the other one. (There are two, father and son.)

|B.J. Waters||Harry Marlow photo request.|
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. His grave is unmarked.
The interesting thing is, I found a marker for a Thomas McLenaghan on lot 602-C, which is supposed to be where Harry is. So I inquired at the office. Thomas is supposed to be in lot 602-A, two spaces over.
The employee at the office is going to research this and find out what happened. Either Harry is actually in 602-A, or if not, and he is in 602-C, then Thomas's headstone is going to need to be moved!
I'll let you know what I find out. In the meantime, since there is obviously no marker for Harry regardless of which lot number he is actually in, I will use the photo that I took to show the area and probable location.
Sorry this wasn't a more positive outcome.

|Everett Baranowski||Alabama Faulkner Death Certificate & Virtual Memorial Update|
I went to the Mississippi Department of Archives & History in Jackson, MS on Thursday to obtain a copy of Alabama Faulkner's death certificate from microfiche records. Tonight, I finally sat down and culminated the whole research effort & experience into the bio section on Alabama's virtual memorial. Please feel free to stop by have a read. I can't remember if we've e-mailed each other or not yet, but if you'd like a personal copy of the death certificate images, please check out my profile and shoot me an e-mail. Have a blessed day! ~Everett

Dana, I am so thrilled to meet you! Let's keep in touch. Thank you so much for the very ancient historical links in Scotland. I had heard that we had links to William the Bruce ... and there is something about a linkage of our family to the nursery rhyme "Old King Cole." Sorry that I don't have any more information about that! I did have a family tree built on Ancestry.com but was going to pause my membership due to costs ... but now you got me thinking that I should start it up again with all this great new information.

Oh my Gosh cant believe you are in Wichita, we are in McPherson, about 60 miles north of Wichita. Oh this is so cool. Sorry I did not answer sooner, but my husband Verle is in the hospital with pneumonia. When he gets out and is feeling better I will contact you and see if we can get together. We have very little information and would love to see what you have. If I have this figured out your mother is the daughter of one of Sven's daughters. Which one is your Grandmother. Oh I am so excited

Hi Dana, I am Rachel Johnson, married to Verle Johnson, who is the son of Leslie Johnson who was Mauritz Johnson's son. Making Sven Johnson our Great Great Grandfather also. Verle and his two brothers Dean and John are trying to find out about some of their relatives. Do you have any information about who Sophia, Ida, Millie, Stancie, Emma and Charley were married to and who their children are. If you have any information, we would sure appreciate hearing from you. My sister is into genealogy and she got me this far. Hoping to hear from you

Dana, I understand the feeling as I'm a rural carrier associate for the post office. I'm only guaranteed work on Saturdays. The beginning of the year was slow and I mostly only worked that one day a week. Starting a couple weeks ago, I've been called in a lot (probably due to the career carriers taking summer vacations). It's ebb & flow, ya know?
Seriously though, the last couple months I would have gone out of my mind if I didn't get out of the house and go to Oxford Memorial! Helping do inexpensive genealogical favors for others helped me out in a few ways the past couple of months.
I guess we'll just keep touching base here. Eventually, you'll get some free time to share some news with me. LOL! Talk to ya later! ~Everett
P.S.- I also plan on sharing a copy of the death certificate with you once a copy has been obtained.

|Everett Baranowski||Alabama Faulkner Memorial Update|
I just finished doing a write-up on Alabama's virtual memorial, explaining about her life and how her story was obtained. I will add confirmation about the family transportation as it becomes available. Let me know what you think of it so far. Planning on obtaining a copy of Alabama's death certificate in the next couple of months as well. Sent an e-mail off to the site's owners to see if the certificate can be posted once obtained. If not, I'll post a note stating that the death certificate can be obtained by e-mailing me. That's all for now. ~Everett

Dana, thought I'd touch base to see how your family connection research is coming along. Have you done any further work to see what connection exist in your family lines since we were last in contact a few months ago? Not sure how much interest you have in pursuing the topic, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Do you live somewhere local to Oxford (MS)? If not, is there anything I can help you work on? Ya know, the prior manager for Alabama's virtual memorial voluntarily transferred management to me after I shared my story with her (just to assure her that I wasn't posting some random photos of the ground on the memorial page). That whole adventure took on a life of its own for a little bit there once the case was cracked. I still have to figure out a way to best honor the life and memory of Alabama on her memorial page. Was distracted by having my maternal grandmother visiting with us from Michigan the past 2 months. Just now getting back to figuring out what I wanna do with the memorial page. Say, what would your relation be to Alabama? Have you figured that out yet? ~Everett

|Everett Baranowski||RE: Alabama Faulkner Gravesite FOUND!|
Dana, I have a St. Peter's family plot survey from 1940 that is still used today by the city and Waller Funeral Home. If you'd like a copy of the map, feel free to check out my profile and e-mail me. Larry Wells' home was actually owned by Maude, not by William's grandfather (according to the state historical sign in his yard). William's grandfather's house (which took up a whole city block) burned down, but Maude's house was on the grounds and still survives today. I've contacted a few sources to find the Alabama grave site, so I was pretty busy making sure that I'd kept everybody in the loop at the time. Since contacting you, I've gone and viewed the Rowan Oak grounds for the first time and gotten a photograph taken with Bill Griffith (the grounds curator), and Anna (his assistant). I've also returned to Larry Wells' home and asked him if I could take a picture with him. He was kind enough to allow me to do that. Larry and his wife both have graves already placed in Oxford Memorial which I've returned to photograph as well.

Larry Wells also told me that some of the Caruthers family were servants for the Falkner family. So, in a humorous sense, I'm getting information on each source from the other source and learning all sorts of things! :-) Out of curiosity, are you part of that Caruthers family? If so, which relatives of yours knew the Falkners directly? Please feel free to e-mail me privately (see my profile) for additional photos, cemetery maps, etc. if you desire.
