Harmon family history
I think I used your e-mail once and got a mailer demon. I am trying to get some information about my G-mother Lottie Harmon Nease' the Harmon side of the family. I just discovered recently that my 2xGreat grandmothers name was Eaks. You must be some relation to either Cora or Charles which are the other two survivng children. I know Cora married my g-fathers twin Charles but I do not know who Charles Harmon married.

Mari Mills
Re: Standford Dunlap family
Ann, Tonight, I spoke with James Barton Dunlap, in regards to the Dunlap family. My husband, Jim Mills, is related to him thru Standford Dunlap, his great-grandfather. His grandmother is Ava Dunlap Smith and his mother is Bonnie Smith Mills, so he is "twice removed". Hope this makes sense. Warmest regards, Mari Mills

Gregg Taylor
John Abshire
I don't know if you like proof or documentation. Have you ever looked at the Bureau of Land Management records? If not go to BLM GLO on the internet. Search for John Abshire in Lawrence County, Illinois. It will bring up the location of the farm and you can access the document transferring ownership to "the minor heirs of John Abshire". It lists Sophia, John and William Abshire. With the information you have on the 1850 Census it pretty much confirms that John is definitly the husband of this Mary Abshire.
Furthermore it tells you this is his bounty for serving in the War of 1812. It also tells you he was in the 7th Regiment which was a North Carolina Regiment. You may already now this but I was excited to find it yesterday.

All the best,
A distant relative,
Gregg Taylor

RE: William McNair
Ok, no problem at all! I'm always happy to transfer management. That is what this place is for anyways, to memorialize our loved ones.

I copied your information onto his memorial. Are you related to the McNairs? I'm more than happy to transfer management if so.

Charles Seed
Hi Ann, regarding the dad's name for Charles, I double checked his d/c and his son had definitely listed Henry Crawford Seed as dad. Could you send me an edit of his bio where ever you found it. So I can list it on his memorial showing the difference in the names.

Nancy Ann (King) Moore
Was wondering how much you knew about the King and Moore family? My Nancy King was married to James S. Moore. They were married in 1848. This does not seem to jive with this Nancy King who would probably not have married James Moore until after the 1854 death of Rosetta. It just seemed odd for there to be two Nancy's both marrying James Moore. Yet that may be the case. If you have any light you can shed on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks for all you do for Find A Grave. Also I am very sorry for the loss of your husband. Thanks again.

RE: Isabella Landwehr #111662764
Has to be Lake Hill then, it's closest. She lived downtown and husband is buried in downtown cemetery, Greenwood.

The closest Oak Hill is miles away in Clermont, and that just doesn't make sense. Oh well. Never mind, then.

Bill & Lena Dunlap
This week I was cleaning out my parents house and came across a few old photographs of my Aunt Lena (Toots) and her husband William Lee Dunlap. I thought that I would let you know of this. Thanks for all of the great information on Uncle Bill's brother Francis. Yesterday I went up and place flowers on the graves at Vahalla.

Ann - I added a gravestone photo for Lewis. The caption contains corrected burial information for him.

He is actually buried in Old Union Cemetery.

New Union is across old Rt. 66 from Old Union.

Daniel Harmon Litten
Hello there: I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on Daniel's wife, Martha A Grove (parents, siblings, etc). And his parents, Holcom Hosea Litten and his wife Winifred - and would you know who Holcom's parents are? If you are able to share, that would be incredible. If not, I'll keep digging as I can. Thanks so much.
