RE: John Willis Ennis son of W. T. Ennis
Terri
Thanks for replying--the information helps alot--yes I have seen a photo of William Tennant Ennis' tombstone and it will not last--wish I had the money to replace it--most of the people in that particular cemetery I am related to and I do have Shields cousins (still sorting it all out)--how in the world can you keep up with all the cousins when even a small family is 8 children--Thanks so much, Myrtle Mandane

John Willis Ennis son of W. T. Ennis
Terry (Baker) Johnson---While you were taking photos in the Campbell-Shields Cemetery, did you come across a tombstone for John Willis Ennis, the 6th child of William Tennant Ennis and Nancy Mandane Gatewood. I can't find his tombstone and his sister Mary Thomas Ennis and his father, W. T. Ennis are buried at the Campbell-Shields Cem. William Tennant Ennis died Jan 30, 1862 and John Willis Ennis (almost a year old) died Sep 28, 1862. Also the Civil War was going on and money may have been hard to come by and a stone may not have been put there till much later. Any info would be much appreciated. Also I am most curious as to the inscription on Matilda Allcock Ennis Phelps' tombstone "Matilda--wife of D.D.Phelps" ---she divorced him in 1851 (I have her 5 page divorce petition). Also are you related to these lines and how? Thanks for taking the photos of Mary Thomas Ennis and George Washington Phelps.
