He is my 2nd great-grandfather. He served in the Civil War with his brother Caspar Moos (also spelled Kasper Moos) Find A Grave memorial #69857554. I have some family papers stating that Hubert Robert Moos is buried in San Diego Cemetery along side Eva B. Kunz Moos. Many of their relatives are there. I have not been able to find his grave. I have a copy of his application for Civil War Pension. I understand that Hubert and Caspar were among the first five families to settle in the Anhalt(Honey Creek)area. My Grandmother was Elma Anettie Moos Maroney. I have been doing ancestry work for 2+yrs. now. I hope you might be able to help me find him. My grandmother, Elma, had five sons of her own that served our country (WWII). I Love my family. Hubert's father, Michael died of cholera bring his young family to America. |Sue Thompson Patterson||RE: Re: Bernhard Friedrick Brieger|
I can tell that you are serious about your research. Thank you so very much for the good information. If you approve, we will go with the Friedrich. Often with script, a little curve or kink in the final stroke of an "h" will look like a "k". I have trouble with it myself sometimes. I will usually take the draft registrations over census or even death or birth indexes because I have found so many errors of one day or one year. However, baptismal records would even hold priority over the draft registrations. Again, thanks for your great accurate help.
