|J. C. Hooper||Golda Cotney, Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK|
Golda Cotney does not have a grave marker as of January 4, 2014. It's possible that she's still living. I have posted a photo of the area as a record that a photo was requested, and a grave marker for her was not found. The only Cotney grave marker in Block 12, Lot 10, where Golda is or possibly will be is for Robert Cotney. His grave marker is the small gray one in the center of the photo. Robert's inscription is on half of the east side of the marker, and there is not any inscription on the west side. A flat grave marker for Terry R. Walker looks to be in the same lot. If I've found the correct person, Golda was still living when her twin sister passed away on August 13, 2013: http://www.meaningfulfunerals.net/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=2194450&fh_id=11558

I hope I can get them in better condition. There is only one stone standing. Penny is not one of them. There was about 5 to 6 foot stones 4 lg stones and only one up it was for a Bettis. None are boken just down.
Only one side of Penny could be seen and it is to large for me to move, I can see James Penny at the top, the dates are hard to read and at the bottom there is more writing. I for got to take my shaving creme to be able to read it better.
I will work with the pics and see if I can get them better. This weekend I will be staying in cause of the weather and get them done.

|Jeff Braucher||RE: Sytha Cotney Strong|
Thank you for your kind words. You and others like you is why I enjoy researching, taking pictures and completing cemetery projects.
Several years ago I was researching the burial locations of my first Braucher ancestors who came over from Germany in the early 1700's. In doing so I came across find-a-grave and a picture of one relative's headstone. I photographed my other relatives and added them to the website.
Over 1,000 early pioneers and about an additional 700 or so more recent graves were at that cemetery in Kempton, Pennsylvania yet only a handful were photographed and recorded. I decided to photograph the entire cemetery and add them to find-a-grave. That led to a return visit to the area and the photographing of two more ancestral grave yards.
While I was adding them from my home in Nevada, I went out to the Boulder City Cemetery and then Woodlawn to handle photo requests. Soon, I realized they too needed work.
Words of thanks and encouragement from kind people such as you keeps me going as I try to create a more complete records for friends, families and researchers.

Always glad to transfer to family who will maintain long term. We've got a good group of eager photo volunteers, as well as a couple of online data geeks like myself. Would love to see all these memorials filled in with lots of details and links to other family. May your family tree spread loving branches across many generations. Aloha, Pam

There are over 18,000 Confederates buried in Hollywood. The original markers were wood. After the war they were replaced with stone numbered row markers
The headstones seen in the picture were placed by family members after the war or through genealogy research.
The fee for a headstone from Hollywood is $100 for the headstone footer. The headstone itself is free as they are considered veterans.
The following is the link for the Veterans paper work .Should you desire to have a headstone placed.
