Thank you so much for getting in touch!

The (incorrect) link to Malinda Tipton should have never been added; I apparently inadvertently approved a suggested edit I shouldn't have. The theory that Sarah was a granddaughter of Church and Ellen Austin Tipton is an old one, and one which I had already disproved via DNA testing. I have removed it.

I was very excited to see the information you posted on Henry Scott's probate file, as I had just about given up on ever finding out which Tipton family Sarah was tied to.

Thanks again for your assistance, this is simply wonderful news to have.

Best Regards,
Dave Reynolds

Captain William Bean
Thank you for all the information. Not a lot of time for Find A Grave right now, but if you will send me an email address, we can continue the discussion. I appreciate that you have put some effort into Bean research, and your conclusions look to be correct, except that my understanding is that Capt. Wm. Bean, the pater familia, cohort of Dan'l Boone, first white man to bring his family across the mountains, etc., etc., with his brother John, built a fort at what is now Bean Station, though he may not have lived there long at all. Those early forts were for Indian defense, and the Indian situation was so fluid that they often became useless within a year or two. I'm very familiar with Watauga, though I always enjoy acquiring new info about it. Losing battery. Tnx.

Carolyn Lane Lewis
Emma Stites Hadley Litterell
I have added the links to her first husband and her parents as you requested. I am not related to Emma - this was one of the "extra" pictures we took when we visited the cemetery. If you would like, I will be happy to transfer the memorial to you.
