I sent the obit and date of death to the contributor for Ben. I just realized his memorial is posted in the same cemetery with Nancy and according to his obit that is not where he was buried.

Thanks for the information. Ben has already been linked to Nancy as her spouse. Did you notify the contributor of Ben's memorial about the date of death for Ben? I found his obit and he is being buried in a different place from Nancy. Guess the other side of her gravesite is going to be one of those 'abandoned' sites. So often a spouse will have their name on the other side of the tombstone, then remarry and be buried elsewhere. And Nancy was so young when she died. My uncle had a place called Pete's Drive-in. Nancy and I worked together there. We were daytime 'curb girls' or 'car hops', serving people in their cars. I remember at that time Ben was on deployment and she was anxiously awaiting his arrival home. I don't know if I ever met Ben or not as Nancy did not work after he came home. I was shocked when my aunt told me Nancy had died.
Would you like me to transfer Nancy's memorial to you?

|Pam Horne||Request for Fallie Sidden|
Rowan Memorial Park will no longer tell me where graves are located, and due to the large size of the cemetery, I cannot find graves by walking around looking for them. Please call the cemetery at 704-636-8751 and ask for section & plot number of the graves you are looking for. Let me know where the graves are and I will be happy to fill your request.

|Debi Benton Tucker||RE: Picture|
Thanks for answering. I was hoping that someone might have a picture of Mary Ann Simpson that married Jesse Morris Benton. I wasn't sure of any Simpsons that might have had some pictures handed down. I know several family members lived in or near Monroe at one time but not sure how to find out or to contact. Thanks for your time.

|Gina Rugito Anderson||Gertrude Porter Hunnicutt|
Hi - I stopped by Pleasant Plains Baptist Church cemetery in Matthews, NC in search of your photo request and could not locate a marker for her. I did upload a "family memorial" with the same spelling and a few other photos for other Honeycutt/Hunnicutt memorials that I did see. There are quite a few unmarked graves there - it's quite small and is probably maintained by someone from the church.
I will try again and focus my attention around the Porter graves. Perhaps I will find her there. I noticed that other Porters are married to Shannon and Hartis, and I DID notice those names there.

|Robert C. Peurifoy||Carolina Park|
Noticed your request for John and Bainer Simpson at Carolina Park. With a Grave as old as his he would have been buried in the section to the left of the main entrance or the fountain section.
The oldest part of the cemetery is the Masonic which is the section immediately to the left. Behind that is the Cherry Section. I have photographed both of those sections and may have their photo in my other computer. I'll check and see. Have so many it may take a couple of months. (I'm trying to complete the Mausoleum today.)The next oldest section is the Fountain.
The cemetery was started in 1943. The founder is buried in the Masonic monument. A burial of 1946 would have to be in one of these first sections.

Is this the Mumford Simpson who lived on Meadow Street in Concord? I remember his and his daughter. They were all close friends to my father's family who grew up on Meadow street. I never go by there without thinking about them. Didn't know them well but my father did.

Thanks for the additional info for Nancy. We worked together for a short time and I remember her anxiously awaiting her husband's return from a cruise. He was in the Navy. Thankfully he had returned before her illness and death. I entered her in findagrave when I found her obituary in my scrapbook.
