You're welcome! I wish I could've done more to get the lichen off but I didn't have anything with me. :(. I did try to make the letters more visible using a stick.

You're welcome!

The stone was unfortunately broken at the bottom of the name, but what remains is the bottom of the name "Anna".

What is really funny is they have copied the photos I posted and appears to have claimed them as their own.

Thanks am not sure why someone would create another memorial instead of asking for the transfer. I appreciate you letting me know. Currently am unable to view the memorial not sure why but will give it look when I can :).

Moriarty
Hi Leslie,
I had a request to take down the pictures I posted to the Moriarty memorials from Mt.St. Benedict Cemetery that you requested as I added the picture I took in June, which duplicated another claim (oops!) Anyway, I also posted the interment card from the office just to show who is actually on record as buried in that plot. Do you want me to remove that photo as well? I'm happy to leave it there, and I'm happy to remove it -- whichever you prefer as you are the memorial manager. My apologies for not posting my pics when I took them and thus creating the duplicates.

We went looking for Mary's grave today but we didn't find it. We may look again tomorrow. Do you know if the headstone has been updated or are we looking for the original one? Thank you

A Horan
Moriarty's in Mt St Benedict
Hi,
I visited Mt St Benedict over the past weekend and asked about the location for the Moriarty family, for which you have photo requests. They are buried in Section C Lot 141, as you have, but there are no individual ground markers, just the family monument is visible. Whether there were ever ground markers is difficult to tell -- many of the markers in the cemetery are grown over or covered over with soil and grass. I did poke around all in front and behind of the monument, but I didn't find any ground markers. I'm posting photos of the monument, front and back, and the space in front of the monument, where there would be markers if any were in place.

Ellen Moriarty
Hi Leslie,
I finally made it back to the office at Mt. St. Benedict to find out more about Ellen and John Moriarty. Here are the details about the Moriarty family monument I posted to Ellen's memorial: plot purchased Sept. 3, 1889 by Michael Moriarty, location lot S1/2, no. 141, sec. C. The interred are: #1:Nora M. Moriarty,56, May 10, 1949, #3:Michael J. Moriarty,86, Nov. 28, 1979, #4:Mary Moriarty,52, Dec. 29, 1938, #5:Mary Moriarty,56, Mar. 27, 1923, #6: Michael D. Moriarty,77, Aug. 20, 1936 (all dates are burial dates, not dates of death). Notice no name for #2, but it could have been before 1912. Something happened in 1912 to the records at this cemetery but I'm not sure what. I suspect Ellen and John are in #2, especially considering the date of purchase and Ellen's date of death. I'll let you know what I find when I go back again. Denise
