RE: Mary Wright
My pleasure. If there are any other Browns in the West Winfield area, I will search them out for you. This cemetery is only 10 min driving distance from my home and I found a dozen requests in just one afternoon.

RE: Veteran Simon Uber
Got the pic, just didn't post it yet. Someone was out there and put Simon's stone upright.. there are cracks all along the back and a piece that had to be put back into place. Jan

Hey Kathy, I picked him up a flag holder and flag. We can't get him a bronze plate until we have a service number, but at least he'll have his flag. Will update a photo when I get over there again. Jan

Vesper Cemetery Photo Requests
Subj: Your photo requests from Oct. 9, 2014 - Lorenzo Bailey and Othelbert Bailey.

Walked this cemetery today finding no Bailey's. However, two headstones with similar designs located side by side had names Lorenzo Beach and Othelbert Beach. Lorenzo Beach died 1/12/1860 at age 44. Could not make out the date on Othelbert.

It seemed too much of a coincidence that two less common names would appear with a similar last name so I thought I would pass that on.

I have photos of these stones if you are interested.

Her German name was Margaretha Schmidt and was changed to Margaret Smith. Her father's name was Peter Schmidt/Smith. She and husband John E. Emm had 9 children. Mary, Margaret, Ida, John F. She taught my mother to cook many German dishes. Ida and husbank John are buried in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, New York. I have lots more information. How are you related to the Emm Families. RE: McGill/Sharp
sure you can use the images.

we have a group of people that submit hundreds of photo requests randomly in certan cemeteries. i stoppped filling them so they went to to the cemeteries themselves and got themselves blacklisted there as well.

RE: PA & Ubers
That's works great, I'm in all those counties doing research, (grew up in Westmoreland) When I'm searching a cemetery, I'll check your 'requested photo' page.

He says that there are four Fauls on the lot: Ephraim, Etta, Earl Wayne and George (d. 1890) None of them have stones. They are next to the office.

Caring Graver
Amsterdam Cemetery
The cemetery is neglected and probably abandoned. Its not the first cemetery that I have come across that was abandoned.

I had taken several pictures on March 7 and am trying to upload them to records already processed by other volunteers.

Most are illegible and have faded with its history! The cemetery is tagged with what looks to be pink gas flags by several gravestones. Don't know what that is about!

The gravestone I posted happened to be one that I could read and clear the roots away because it is at the base of a large tree.

Siris / Cyrus UBER
Good afternoon. I have pictures of all of the legible markers at the Amsterdam cemetery. I don;t have any record of a Siris. However, Cyrus Uber is there with a picture attached to his page. Could they be the same?

RE: Checking In
Hey Kathy! Been working on my family tree a LOT ( stuff). Hey, I'm trying to dig up a service number for Simon Uber (D: 1908). If we can find his service number, we can get him a bronze military plate for his grave! I found what he was in, but am not locating the serial number. Can you help out on that? Jan

Uber Cemetery
Just made a trip to Smithport, Pa and think I found the Uber Cemetery (at least from the road).I have been looking for it since we returned to Pa 10 years ago. I can remember looking for it with my grandparents 55 or 60 years ago with no luck.

My great, great, great grandfather and grandmother Simon and Rebecca (Kistler) Uber are buried there.
