|Larry Head||Myrtle Point Cemetery Death Certificates|
Hi Ernie, Thank you for adding the death certificates to the Myrtle Point Cemetery memorials - a few of my g.g.-grandparents and their children are here. I noticed that on the Find A Grave Memorial # 31825534 for Harvey Lewellen (1823-1903) you had added the death certificate for his son James Lafayette Lewellen (1851-1926) who's Memorial is # 67764778. I'd gone ahead and placed the D.C. for James on his Memorial page. Was wondering if you had death certificates for either Harvey or his wife Elizabeth Cassteel-Lewellen (1825-1903 - her Find A Grave Memorial # 31825534). Thank for your help.

First, THANK YOU for the great work you do and going above and beyond by adding death certificates. I believe I had permission in the past from you but again wanted to ask permission to use tombstone photos and death certificate photos in my ancestry.com family file. My usual credit line is: photo credit belongs to and used with permission of Find A Grave member, Ernie Krewson.

John T. Anderson doesn't have a memorial, I am not sure where he is buried.
I did link her to her mother from the edits. I will copy and paste it here though as well.

|DeMaster||Leonard Erickson - Sunset Memorial Park|
Hello Ernie. First, I wish to say Thank You for doing what you are doing in your Cemetery work. It is of great historical & genealogical value to those of us who research. Especially to myself, as my family resided (some still do) in that area for many decades. "Leonard" Erickson is my Great Uncle. He was born Toivo Leonard Erickson, the son of Mikko Nisunmaa (Michael "Mike" Erickson) & Liisa Juhantytär Vattuaho (Elizabeth "Lissi"/"Lizzie" Aho) - The family is from Finland nativity, with his parents having immigrated separately, meeting & marrying in Seattle.
Toivo Leonard Erickson was always called by his middle name. It came as a surprise to this researcher and her mother upon finding this formal name on his gravestone. TOIVO translates from Finnish to English as "HOPE". The dates verify and match all other records we have documented. My mother was always told she had an Uncle Leonard who drowned quite young. The death certificate you posted shows cause of death to be Eresepelos (possible misspelling of Erysipelas), a bacterial skin infection.
Secondly, although the memorial you set up for Leonard has more detail (LOVE the death certificate! May I please utilize it in my online genealogy?), there is a previous memorial already created: Perhaps you can get in touch with the original creator and merge the two separate memorials. The other memorial info:

I checked at the locations I thought it shows on James McCauley's gravestone today and did not find him. Now I am wondering if it says Lot 775 and not 275 or 375??
Maybe I will go back up there tomorrow and try that. I am hoping to find him and not have to walk that entire Rhododendron section looking for him.

I didn't spell the last name correctly in my previous message, It should be Pewitt, not Prewitt.

I'm wondering why you placed a duplicate marker photo on the memorial page I created for Genevra B. Prewitt. I created the memorial and posted the photo of the marker in August 2013, and you posted another marker photo, the exact same thing as mine, in March 2016. I don't see the need for a duplicate. Find A Grave allows 5 "free" photos per memorial. Please explain why you have duplicated the the marker photo.

I got to thinking when I read your bio that you wanted to take care of Dora Cem. and didn't want to make any transfers, that I understand because you are the one that is primarily in charge of it. So you said you are doing some of the other cem. and gathering data on those folks. Well when I got permission from two different people down your way to add the photos of one or two different cem. that they had surveyed they were nice enough to allow me to do that. I would like to transfer those memorials over to you so that you can take care of them. Ernie I am 73 years old and won't be around that much longer to add things to those sites as should be done, and none of those people are my relatives. Comment number #3 why is it that you have added so many people from Lincoln Mem. Cem. which is across the street from Willamette Nat. Cem. which I surveyed and laid out many of the grave sites back in the 1970's, and because I am a Vet is where I will be buried? Those questions should keep you thinking for a few minutes.

For Jack you have posted a death Cert. for Jordy Jane Morgan what's up with that. And as a side line question how do you access old death cert. records for folks that have died in Oregon or other states for that matter. Death Cert. contain an amazing amount of data for us geneologists. My brother and I were able to by mail obtain the death cert. of our great grandfather which allowed us to see who his father and mother were, and that was back in the early 80's. Take care and thanks for your service if you were a Vet as I was, and thank you for all the hard work you do on Find A Grave.

Please put death certificates under the category of "other" when you download them to the memorial not under "grave". When you put your photo under "grave" it looks like a headstone photo has already been taken so a volunteer will just skip over it. Leaving the chance that no photo will be taken of the headstone. If you would do this it would be appreciated.

Hello--I would like to ask permission to use the Oregon death certificate you posted to Paul's memorial for my ancestry.com tree. I ordered and received one from the Oregon archives but the photocopy is pretty blurry and yours is clear like it's the original.
Thank you, Pat

You have a death certificate posted to this memorial, but it does not appear to be for this person.

Can you check, and if it isn't, remove it and put it on the memorial it belongs to?

|Nathan Haines||Mary Eldeen Holmes|
So you want pictures of Mary Eldeen Holmes grave and all you know is 1923-1968 and that is all you have to go on?
I have been searching until my fingers hurt and I can't find any Mary Holmes who was born in 1923 and died in 1968.
I don't know if I feel right asking the cemetery for a location with this limited amount of information. It would be nice to know something. If she really even existed?! Did she really go by Mary? Maybe she went by some other last name? Maybe she did not die in 1968?
I have been searching every which way I can think of with different dates and searching the whole state for everybody with the last name of Holmes who died in 1968 and not one single one of them were a Mary or an Eldeen or anything close to it.
It is interesting wondering why on earth you think she is in Lincoln Memorial if do death date can be found on her anywhere.
I have searched and searched the newspaper in all kinds of different ways and nothing.
She is not in the Soc Sec death index, or the OR death index, or the WA death index, or the CA death index.
Are you sure she died on this planet? :-]

Thank you so much Ernie for posting the Cert. of Death for my great grandmother Oline Arnesen buried in Sunset Cemetery. The info posted really will help with my family history research! It clears up a few questions and will lead me in the right direction.

I offered the citation in case you wanted to post it to the memorial page for other researchers - to be generous and helpful.
I don't mean to sound terse (really I don't) -- I just don't know what Ancestry has to do with it. I photocopied this obituary from microfilm at the library and for a while I transcribed hundreds of them and sent them out to people. I just don't have the time to do that anymore so thought it would be a nice gesture to send the citation for others to easily locate the obituary.
I apologize for making things confusing - I didn't mean to.
