Yes, I made a request, but perhaps I did not send it. I don't see where it went out so I maybe did not hit the send button. I will request again. If you choose not to transfer it is alright

I'm happy to transfer if you wish to manage. Just use the edit tab, suggest another correction, to make the request. I manage a bunch of Erie area memorials to which I have no ties. Thanks for being a find-a-grave volunteer.

RE: William Huey
Hi Jan!

I posted the pictures but didn't for Isaac Fry. I wanted to get to my computer before went back down to Salem Cemetery. I knew I had existing photos from down there but didn't know how many or for who. I had gone down in mid-November and gathered a few but it turns out I don't have them for Isaac. The snow built up this weekend in our area so I probably won't make it back there until Spring. But I will get his pic once I return. Thanks - Jim

Sounds like supposition, I'm not comfortable with that leap. I'm removing the link to the parents. Thanks, LG.

What is your source for the birth/death information? Thanks, LG

RE: William Huey
Hi Jan - Yes I am from the area. Please make the request (so I don't forget) because I'm not near my computer at the moment. My notes say that William's mother and father are buried beside him at that cemetery.

I saw that William's father John is listed on Find-a-Grave but Mary is not. Mary and John share a gravestone. The inscription on the back (opposite of John's) says:

Mary M. Huey

So, if you would like to create her memorial as well, I will post the photo.

Hope all is well. - Jim

William Huey
Jan -

Thank you so much for the bio information for William. I have added it to his memorial. My goal is to get his and other Civil War veteran's memorialized so that others can 'find' them. YOUR help with his information is infinately appreciated.

Also, if William is a relative of yours, I will gladly transfer his memorial to you. I would really like to reunite his memorial with a relative.

Thanks again - Jim

Deleting transferred memorials
In an earlier message I mentioned sending a request to Find a Grave to merge or delete a memorial that was transferred to me instead of just deleting one of them.

I believe this is to protect the person who created the memorial. In the past people have requested transfers and then deleted the memorial so they could create their own.

Thank you for sending the edits.

RE: Marcha Converse
They sure can be! I did have that record posted to her memorial, and you would have been able to see it all immediately, but findagrave, in their infinite wisdom, won't allow funeral records to be posted (but they DO allow death certs - go figure). So, they dutifully removed all 4000 or so funeral records I'd posted without warning. Now, I'm going in and transcribing each one because the information on them is SO valuable! A labor of love, I tell ya.

Since Mrs. Converse was brought to my attention, I've already transcribed hers and added the additional info that may clear up her burial discrepancy for future researchers.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Her funeral record has Ohio as the original burial destination, but that's all crossed out and Greenwood, Orlando is listed as the place of burial, plus a diagram of her plot.

Mary was my Granny and my neighbor. Granny loved to go down and talk to her. She was a nice lady. I also enjoyed visiting with them.
