I found an antique that belonged to your family

I sell vintage items online. I purchased a large amount of books from the 1800's and found one with a message inside with a pretty interesting story.

You can find it here:

The only email I check regularly is through the link on the Etsy page. If any of the actual decedents are interested I will lower the price to almost nothing to get it back to you.

It belonged to:
J. A. Stark
A. W. Stark

Please correct this memorial - the photograph is of a marker in the restored Cornell burial ground in Rockaway Queens (NY) - I know this because I took the photo myself! Please see Find A Grave Memorial# 13964623.

Sarah Stark
Its possible she buried here. There were a few stones that I was unable to read because they were so worn. Then there's also the possibility of an unmarked grave. Sorry I couldn't help.

RE: Jonathan and Sarah
On my mom's side, my Great-Grandmother was Lucinda Stark (1872-1946) who married Enoch Walters. On my dad's side, my GG-Grandmother Emma Stark (b. 1861) married Wilson Asbury.

Yes, I am a descendant of the Starks. Interestingly, I found out my parents were 6th cousins, as they are both GGGGG-Grandchildren of Jonathan Stark (1712-1765) and Sarah Lacock (1722-1784).

Can you provide more info on this picture...
It seems strange to have a photo of him so young before he died in 1820..

Hello Valerie,
There are two memorials for Dan. I sent a letter to the other lady, to see if we can't get them merged. She has additional information.

Relatively speaking
Hello Valerie.

Richard Cornell is one of my great grandfathers.

He's 13 generations back from me.

Are you also directly descended from Richard?

Thomas Vinson
RE: William Vinson (1759-1836)
Thank you so much for your response. Below is my genealogy so you can see my possible path to William & Lucy Vinson.

Valerie Stark Newsome (b.1962) self
Max L. Stark (1921-2002) father
Bessie Ellen Glenn Stark (1900-1987) grandmother
1. Alexander Wesley Glenn (1854-1920) great grandfather
2. Jesse Vinson Glenn (1825-1902) second great grandfather
3. Nancy Elizabeth Vinson Glenn (1794-1869) third great grandmother
4. William Vinson (1759-1836) fourth great grandfather who married Lucy Guthrie (born 1765)
5. Jesse Vinson (1732-1801) fifth great grandfather who married Esther Dawson (1734-1820).

Valerie here is how I get to Isaac Benjamin Vinson

Thomas Edward Vinson (b.1948) self
Ronald Marvin Vinson (b.1919) father
Thomas Glenn Vinson (b.1883) grandfather
1. Jesse C. Vinson (b.1852) great grandfather
2. Isaac Benjamin Vinson (b.1816) second great grandfather

When I get here in my Vinson Family Genealogy, although I would like William Vinson & Lucy Guthrie to be my third great grandparents, I have never found, nor has anyone shown me, any document that connects Isaac and William to each other. I know this connection is what shows up in, but there is no proof. I would very much like you to be that person. Do you have anything to connect them?

William Vinson
I ran across your name in find-a-grave website, where you indicated William Vinson (1759-1836) buried in Rock Creek Cemetery in Waynesville, Illinois was your 4th great grandfather. I have been working on my Vinson genealogy for many years and think William might also be my 4th great grandfather but cannot prove it. Do you have any information about William you would care to share. I work in Familytreemaker software, but would appreciate any data you might have in any form.

RE: Aaron Stark
Hello Valerie,
It was nice to hear from you. I started my research on the Stricker's but ran into a wall at my 3rd ggf, Wolf Stricker. Then one day I thought, grandma is just as important as grandpa, so I started thinking differently. To my surprise, I went up to Aaron Stark with a couple of side trips. Will try to keep this as simple as I can.

My ggf Zachary Stricker
ggm Amanda (Allhands)

2nd ggf Jacob Allhands
2nd ggm Nancy Jane (Plaskett)

3rd ggf Joseph Plaskett
3rd ggm Eliza Ann (Pound)

4th ggf Vinyard V. Pound
4th ggm Eleanor (Hutchings)

5th ggf Joseph Pound
5th ggm Elizabeth (Stark)

6th ggf Christopher Stark
6th ggm Martha (Vineyard)

7th ggf Jonathon Stark
7th ggm Sarah (Laycock)

8th ggf William Stark jr
8th ggm Experience (Lamb)

9th ggf William Stark sr
9th ggm Elizabeth (Moore)

10th ggf Aaron Stark
10th ggm Sara (Fish)

I've been told, it even goes three more generations, that are documented. Leroy
It's all linked on find-a-grave.

RE: Fr John-Pierre (John Peter) Dolweck
I go to that cemetery a few times each week. Your request came just as I was ready to go and the cemetery workers were there to guide me to the correct area. I passed it up first pass and the second pass I looked took it slower.
Is this in your family tree?
I would like to make the marker look a little better. Do you think that would be okay?
