RE: Reno - Oak Hill Cemetery
I think the graves of these infants were removed from elsewhere. I have updated the pages with better dates. Thanks for the photos, Katie. They are great. Have you ever used the foil method for the unreadable ones?

Harry Morris
Commodore Charles Morris
Thanks for the photo. I have searched for his gravesite for a few years now and am pleased to finally find it.

I am a descendant of his half brother, Samuel. Jonathan Flynt Morris wrote the family history in 1870 which included several pages of the exploits of Charles.

He was on the Constitution when she defeated the Bonne Homme Richard. He rose to the rank of Commodore and at one time the Navy Academy at Anapolis reported to him.

His wife's maiden name was Harriet Bowen and they had 10 children.

Franzoni Brothers
Katie -

I found Records, Vol 6 from the Columbia Historical Society (p 220) which states that the Franzoni brothers - Giuseppi and Carlos - were buried in St. Patrick's and later moved to Oak Hill Cemetery where they shared the same grave.

Giuseppi dined with Jefferson every Sunday. He died in 1815. His brother Carlos came over from Italy after his death. Carlos carved the mantel pieces in the Supreme Court Chamber and the Senate Chamber. He died in 1819.

Perhaps Oak Hill could double check their records - the Columbia Historical Society might have additional information.

Ruby Mordecai
Margaret F, Maynadier Baldwin
Thanks so much for the correction of her plot number. I had it confused with Maggie Baldwin Mordecai, the infant daughter of Alfred and Sally Mordecai. In fact the original creator of Maggie Maynadier's memorial page had her last name as "Mordecai", with a note saying she had first married a Baldwin. This confused me, because I couldn't figure out what Mordecai she was married to. Am I crazy???? [Don't answer that. ha]
Thanks for catching this. You have made the marker photos easier to read by placing the foil over the lettering. What a novel idea! I haven't seen that before.
Anyway, I hope I have the correct info now. Please let me know if I need to correct anything else.
Thanks again.
Ruby Mordecai
