Harold Malaby Jr.
WB Malaby "MAL"
Please update his memorial - Thanks so much
W. B. ďMalĒ Malaby, 96, Rochester, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Treasure Coast Hospice House, Stuart, Fla. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed from this life to the next. Mal was born in Kokomo on Jan. 16, 1916, the son of Carl and Anna Wohrer Malaby. He was proud 1935 graduate of Rochester High School and a graduate of Chicago Business College.
On Sept. 8, 1946, Mal married his best friend and the love of his life, Norma Mayer, in Defiance, Ohio, her hometown. Their union of more than 67 years produced two handsome sons, Tom and David.
Returning to Kokomo, Mal opened Malís Out-O-Doors sporting goods store. His store offered a variety of sporting goods, but specialized in hunting and fishing goods. During his early years, he was an active hunter and fisher, and returned to Rochester to enjoy these activities. Mal was said to have caught as many blue gill as anyone on Goose Pond. Mal also played golf in Rochester, Kokomo, and Stuart, Fla. A man of great athleticism, Mal golfed and fly-fished until the amazing age of 94 years.
Malís memberships included more than 60 years at Grace United Methodist Churches in Kokomo and Rochester, Elks Lodge, Rochester, and Optimist Club and Power Squadron, Kokomo.
Mal and Norma enjoyed over 25 years of wintering in Stuart, Fla., enjoying the warmth of the sunshine while growing accomplished at shuffleboard. They both enjoyed the card table, playing many games of euchre and bridge. As a woodcraftsman, Mal enjoyed carving intricate images of birds while in Florida. Mal enjoyed the art of fly-tying, creating custom lures for the many fly fishers who visited his shop. Following his retirement, he continued to fly-tie for many of his fly-fishing buddies. At home, Mal and Norma enjoyed flower gardening and accenting their landscape.
Mal is lovingly remembered by his wife, Norma; a son, Tom Malaby, Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind cherished memories held by many neighbors, friends, his family at Grace Church, and the many customers he befriended at his sporting goods store.
Mal was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, David Malaby in October 2008.
Services celebrating the life of Mal Malaby are 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 701 Jefferson St., Rochester, with Pastor Maurice Grindle officiating. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Good Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester, or the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Stuart, Fla. You may sign Malís guestbook or light a candle to honor his memory at www.goodfamilyfh.com.

Osterday obituary
Thank you so much for Mr. O's obituary. I have added it to his memorial in accordance with findagrave rules.

I had visited Mr. O, Mary E. and Mary E.'s mother Cleora for a week in their backwoods artist studio / home 2 years before Mr. O passed (Cleora was my great great aunt). Mr. O and Mary E. were both were talented artists. I attended his funeral. I still miss them all terribly.

I appreciate the time you spent looking for his obituary and the photo of his tombstone you took. I will try to post a photograph of Mr. O by the weekend to complete his memorial. Again - Thanks much.

Lottie Lillian Hawkins Lybrook
Hi Richard, I am researching Lottie who was married to William A Lybrook. It appears they both died in New Mexico but I can't locate exactly when or where. Are you related to them through their son, Samuel Murray Lybrook?
I would appreciate any information you can give me.

Esther Flora
Hello. I do not know Esther's maiden name, but I have an idea. Contact the cemetery and find out if they are buried in the same plot. Then you can probably assume she is the one you are looking for.

By the way, the link can be made from either memorial, so if you find out she is the wife, you can link them and send a SAC to me with the maiden name.

Good luck!

-B.J.
