RE: Josephine Lyons Bell
My grandpa on moms side was Wiley Hix Lyons, you can find him under Virginia Galax City passed on in 1994. My great grandpa was Luther Lyons and I think he and Josephine are brother and sister.Anyway Josephine had a grand daughter Jean Bell Mosely who did achieve some fame as a writer. I now live in Missouri and discovering I have long lost relatives from both sides of family here it seems even though I grew up in Virginia, good to meet you, keep in touch.

Sorry to hear that, I feel your pain. I am stuck on my Great Grandfather for my Paternal side. I have done dna for my brother, my dads sister, myself and my sister. Now is the time for Church records, he wasn't born during a time of recording births.

Goodluck

I to have fond memories of Waverly :)

I pasted direct links to these trees for you to look at. I have an extensive tree. Feel free to browse and go to list all names and you might find who your looking for. My Mothers family lived in Grand Pass since the early 1800s. I had and probably still have lots of distant cousins in Carrolton, Waverly, Grand Pass. My mother and all her siblings are gone. My dads family was from Marshall and I have cousins still living there. We have one Aunt age 92, she's is the energerizer bunny and she is the only living Yates of Alex and Bessie Yates still alive. The Mcgee's are my Moms side however.

I hope all this helps,

Let me know if you need more help or what you figure out. I hope your connection will help me figure out a few things also.

Thanks your cousin,

Patty Yates-Line

PS. I have done my dna on Ancestry and my maternal dna on Familytree.

McGee
Hi Richard,
My great aunt, Martha Mabe (memorial #60013860) married Richard McGee (memorial # 60013698). I'm hoping you can help me with some research I'm doing on an old photo taken in 1915 of the Coulson Church of the Brethren Sunday School. In it is pictured a woman identified as "Lizzie Winesett McGee". I cannot figure out who this lady is. I've searched every way I can think, maiden name, married name and searched for any McGee male that might have married a Winesett and I come up empty. Can you think of any McGee in that area that married a Winesett? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

RE: William Walter McGee
Michael,

Thanks for the link. I have added him to my CSA list on Find A Grave. I also checked the list our SUVCW chapter in Ste. Genevieve has. He is not listed. I am going to forward the information to them so he can be included.

As for doing anything above and beyond that the SUVCW there doesn't do much more that identify and logging the information. I don't think there is a SCVCW in Ste. Genevieve which would be responsible for marking the grave in some way.

Scott

I do know we try to complete a Bio on all Civil War Vets regardless of which side which includes photos. If you would like to provide a Bio and permission to use the photo you have on Find A Grave let me know and I will forward that as well.

RE: Ralph McGee
Yes, I am. I am part of the McGee family that moved from VA into NC and we are still in that same area today. Ralph McGee, Robert McGee, Harmon McGee, Hartwell Barham McGee, in that order, are direct lineage ancestors.

I am on ancestry.com as woodlandmoth.

Are you descended from Ralph and then David McGee?

I am sorry I am unable to answer your question. Please go to the memorial I put the document on. Most likely they know about the McGuee Family.
As a DAR I do know you can put a memorial tombstone at or about where you think the soldier was buried. There is a form to fill out to get it. First a person best prove the soldier with a document to send in to the government.
I hope you can find what you are looking for.
