Some of these old grave stones are weathered
and hard to read as well as photograph. If you
double click on the photo, it will bring them
up larger and you can read them or make good
notes when you are there. Good hunting !!

I went to the cemetery office and they went through their records and we were not able to find any information on this Miles Weems being buried in he Union Cemetery in Dickson. Do you have any other information that might help us in finding this burial location?

James Scruggs
Are you sure he is buried there? We walked the cemetery and there is no marker for him.
We will try another cemetery if you have an idea.

RE: Jeffers stone photo
There were about 60 photo requests in this cemetery, and I only had time to track down about 10 people. Dr. Dewane was on my list but...It is supposed to snow about an inch tonight. I will get there again sooner or later when I have the time and the weather is not too bad. Could be next spring, but I will get there sooner or later.

Spring Hill Cemetery
As you have probley noticed on this Cemeterys request thingy there is over 113 requests that have not as yet gotten fullfilled and they may not either if the requestors dont call the Spring Hill office for the locations .
So you may have to delete the original request and do over by calling the Cemetery office for location of interment.

I did a walk through at Old Brush Cemetery. So far, no Ella, but I did get the pictures of the others you requested. I also found several other Scruggs and have set up their memorial pages. If you are related, I would be happy to do a transfer. Just let me know.

RE: Ryes Chapel Cemetery
I am still working on Ryes Chapel Cem. I know three people that are over it now. I am trying to get all the names listed. I have a few I have to go back and dust to be able to read them. This cemetery is very poorly laid out. They have just recently started keeping records and trying to contact family members to put headstones on the family members, if they know where they are buried. I am trying to find out as much info that I can on the families, to make connections. There is a lady that put some names on there, with the wrong spelling and wrong dates. I have tried to contact her several times, with no response. I have contacted findagrave, have not heard back from them either. Weather permitting, I am going back out there tomorrow to powder the last ones I need.

RE: Billy Hamilton Stone at Old Union
You're very welcome. In response to some of your questions, yes Savannah is in Hardin County as is Old Union Cemetery. The cemetery is about equal distance between Adamsville, McNairy Co., TN and Savannah, TN. I live in Selmer, TN about 30 miles from Savannah. I believe that the Savannah newspaper comes out weekly and it's called "The Courier". It's a small paper located at 375 Main Street in Savannah, TN. I would bet that if you gave them a call they would help you out.
thx & good luck, Mike

P.S. I have double first cousins as well, it's kind of funny as when people first here of it, they think that there is some type of incest until I explain it to them.
