RE: Hodges corrections
Wendy: That's fine I know what it is like to get backlogged cause I get busy business wise too. All of the fact in the HODGES SAC's are based off of the Norton Vital Records whenever you have time for them.

RE: photo
No problem. There was an Ella Temple right next to it and I've posted a photo for her stone as well. She may be a relative.

Capt. Joseph Hodges
Hi Wendy,
I recently received your message. And I've just spent the last couple of hours trying to figure this out. I can't! I'm on a very popular genealogy site and when I researched Capt. Joseph Hodges, the Massachusetts Find-a-grave Index 1620-2011 came up. On that Index, before I opened the link to Find-a-grave it said his name and listed his birth as 10 Apr 1810. I then accessed the site and saw the correct death date on your memorial. I researched this info a while ago. Tonight, I went to the site my tree is on and started over. I did a search for him and this time there wasn't any Find-a-grave info on him at all! They must have changed something. BUT I still have the old link which I saved to my tree that has the wrong info on it. I don't know how to send it to you.

Capt. Joseph Hodges
Hi Wendy, I'm currently researching the various Joseph Hodges for my tree. Find a Grave has listed 1810 as his birth on the main link to get to the Memorial. Actually that is his death. These are the figures I have. He was born 15 Nov 1752 in Norton, Mass. He died 10 Apr 1810 in Norton, Mass. He was a Captain of one of the Norton companies in the Revolutionary War. He was married to Lurana Williams in 1775. Lurana was born in 1752 and died in 1831. I got this info from several different Sons of the American Revolution applications.

RE: Carlos Freeman
I don't know how to link memorials, but I'll ask a woman in Baton Rouge who knows a lot more than I do about Findagrave! I wonder--was his body moved (a few families had the means to do that, but not many) or did they leave him in Baton Rouge and erect a tombstone in his hometown?

I am no expert, but from what I've read, the burial of soldiers in the Civil War was very chaotic. There are many graves marked "Unknown" because they were reburied at a later time and/or had no identification. I always think that is so sad....

I'm not always that fast, but I was already headed to the cemetery when I saw your request.

Photo of headstone Hazel Ione Parker

Thank you very much for all your trouble trying to take photo of headstone of Hazel Ione Parker #5505552. I am taking the request out, do not want anyone else to have same problem as you did. Will resubmit it when I find out what the problem is. I will contact office again and try to find out why they gave me a location that cannot be found.

Thanks again

Susan Connelly
Eliza/Ellen Skinner and Zenas
Hi - I'd be happy to transfer ownership of these to you. I looked at the photo again, and I think it's quite possible that Eliza could be Ellen. These old stones are very hard to read as you know. If you give me your e-mail, I could attach the "full-sized" photo and you could take a look. Also as far as the marriage date, you may be right about the banns, but the Wrentham records have that date as 5/4.

Re: Ellen Bridgham
Hello Wendy, I want to thank you for trying to find her grave site.
I have heard it is diffigult working with the staff at the cemetery.
If when you are back there, maybe you could take a picture as best you can of her gravesite. That might help other family member's in their search for her.
I plan on goimg up there myself, the next time I am up that way.
Again thank you for your effort's.
Sincerely John

Dear Wendy,
I want to thank you for posting the photo of the Mellor family tombstone. Joseph and Ruth Mellor were my great grandparents. The information on the tombstone helps to place dates on the other family members.
My grandmother was Esther Mellor (d/o Ruth & Joseph- sister of Bertha, Alice and Ellen). Esther m. Frederick Kuttroff in 1890 N Stonington, CT. She is buried in the Kuttroff family plot in Fairfield Co, CT. If anyone is researching this Mellor family, please contact me.
