Vavrek photo request
Thank you so much for checking for Zola Meeks Vavrek's gravesite. Perhaps it is possible she may not be buried. Obit reflects a memorial service at Saint Margarets/Hibernia. Very possibly she was cremated and ashes kept or disbursed in another manner. She and her husband were divorced, so I expect she was not buried with him.

I will remove my request. Again, thank you for your and your wife's time and efforts and consideration. All the best, Linda Ames

RE: Grave of Lewis Washington Roper
Thanks Dennis, Yes I had seen this before. Actually I am grasping for a straw, reaching out to people I think may have more knowledge in locating graves than I do.
Thanks for the response,
Jerry

Grave of Lewis Washington Roper
Hi Dennis,
I have tried many options to find my grandfather's grave, no luck so far. I thought you might have some ideas of where I might look for information.
This is what I know from his death certificate and research:
-died 3 April 1917 in St. Vincents Hosp. Jax,FL
-his body was removed to Clay Co. by Moulden & Kyle. No interment noted.
-his family was predominately Baptist.
-I have contacted; Moulten & Kyle; Clay Co. Vital Records; Duval Co. Vital Records; Old Hickory Grove; several other churches in Clay Co; and a couple of funeral homes in Clay Co. All negative!
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks from another retired Navy Chief,
Jerry

I guess I put him there since his wife is buried there. Will have to check further. I found the entire cemetery transcription and you are right he is not listed. Since he was buried much later his wife, I am guessing that he did not make the transcription. Will have to check some other cemetery info I have.

Thanks for the messages.

Dennis,
thanks so much for taking the time to photograph Cheryl's stone. I hope to get this taken care of for her and have the date of Cheryl's passing engraved on her stone. I appreciate this so much. Thanks again for taking time out to do this for me.
Cheryl was a generous and thoughtful person and it saddens me deeply that this was overlooked.

Dennis, I can't thank you enough for your sending me the pictures that I had requested. Amazing how other things can just pop up....like the Mabry stone right next to them! I really hate to ask but do you have a picture of that also? I can't enlarge it enough to read it but I believe it to be related as their daughter married a Mabry. Are you related to this family?

Thanking you (once again!) in advance your your time,

Sandra Corcoran

Alexander Nettles
Dennis, I am Richard Harrington, Fleming Island.
I thought I'd like to see what I could find in captioned matter. (Retired FBI). I found the 3 Nettles graves, but no Alex. I went to the church and interviewed 3 people who are going to search church records and ask the old timers who may have known any of the Nettles, etc. Monday I'll go the clerk's office unless you have already done so.

Headstone search for Ella Bryant
Thank you so much for the time you spent searching for this headstone! Someone else told me the same thing you did several months ago; I thought that I had removed my request at that time. I have just removed it, but I know she is buried there and that she had a headstone at one time. As a matter of fact, there is a small book self published in 1973 in Orange Park, FL that has listings of all the headstones in Clay County FL. She is listed there, but apparently the headstone has since weathered away or has been stolen. But, thanks again, for looking.
