Would you like to have me transfer the memorial for Alfred Summers to you? I'd be more than happy to do that.
Let me know.
God bless...

Orville E. Hamman Jr.
Warren A. Snook
Thank you so much for the information regarding Warren Snook's date of death. I had tried to find an obituary several times, but always came up empty. I never thought that it would be five years later than what was on his marker. I have several instances where a stone will read or two years after the death date, but this is the first that I have encountered. where the death was shown as being earlier. Thank you!

Utt Edits
Hi Sue: I think I got all your edits in on the Utt's. Check and make sure and let me know if I missed any. Some, like James Utt, I couldn't do because I don't control the memorials. Chris

RE: Augustus W. BRANN, Valley View Cemetery, Yerington, NV
Hi Sue, I noticed the dates (Mr. Rickards) entered are different. I'm sure Mr. Rickards meant well, but, I don't understand his need to put incorrect information on memorials. Just the other day I found where he wrote that the person died in one place but when posting the obituary it was entirely incorrect.

I have one memorial that I have send him many emails, with correct information because what he has written is so entirely incorrect, and I feel sorry for anyone researching their family history and they come upon that one. He has the gentlemen mixed up with his uncle, buried in a cemetery that didn't have any burials during that time period, with a bogus story about a casino being built over the cemetery, he also lists this man as being an only child, but that is so not true.

Please let me know if you ever find one of my memorials with incorrect information, I will gladly correct it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your hard and accurate work !

Katherine Frantz McMahon
Good Morning,
I noticed you left a message on the find a grave of Katherine leaving information regarding her husband, Arthur and his family. I am of a Frantz decent and was wondering if you would have any additional information. You indicate Arthur and Katherine had no children. Was Arthur married previously? I have an Arthur A. McMahon as a child (1919-1938)(aka Arthur A. Shepard)who committed suicide. Any information would be kindly appreciated. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Hamilton Cemetery
Hi Sue,
I hope you don't mind that I copied and pasted your message that you posted on my contributor page as part of the description of the cemetery.
I will email the adminstrator and see if they can change it to the "Hamilton" cemetery with no reference to Mourner's Point. Thank you for research. Bernice

RE: Mourner's Point Cemetery, Hamilton
Hi Sue, here is where I orginally found the information as to it's name. I was looking for cemeteries to visit and take pictures of. I was surprised to see that the sign said Hamilton Cemetery. I'm not sure when the sign was put there.

Mourners Point Cemetery
Hamilton, White Pine County, Nevada

Lat: 39 15' 38"N, Lon: 115 29' 07"W
T16N R58E Sec 7

Contributed by Donna Frederick, Mar 22, 2002, last edited Feb 20, 2007 []. Total records = 18.

Travel U.S. 50 west from Ely for 36 miles. There will be a Nevada Historical marker. Exit south on a well maintained gravel road for nine miles. The cemetery is located on the left (east) side of the road up a small rise. There is a "Cemetery" sign.

Hamilton (Cave City) is located in western White Pine County at an elevation of 8,052 feet. Hamilton was the original county seat of White Pine County. The road into Hamilton may be traveled in a two-wheel drive vehicle. Access is dependent upon the weather and time of year.

Hamilton was created because of the necessity for a town with a desirable location after discovery of rich silver ore in the area. Early arrivals found shelter in natural caves and by May 1868 a settlement known as Cave City was formed with approximately 600 inhabitants.

It was soon renamed for mine promoter W.H. Hamilton. Many thoughtless prospectors, lured by the imagined riches, ignored the warning not to come to White Pine until the snow disappeared. The weather has been described as "ten months winter and two months damned cold weather."

The post office was established Aug 10, 1868 while the area was still a portion of Lander county, Nevada. White Pine county was formed in March 1869 and Hamilton was selected as the first county seat.

A fire destroyed the courthouse at Hamilton along with all of the records in Jan 1885. Records at the Ely courthouse begin Jan 5, 1885.

The following tombstone transcripts were copied May 21, 2000. This is not an official listing of all those buried in the Hamilton cemetery. It is a list of all the names that could still be read.

Elliott Isbell
I can't believe I found your site. Elliott Isbell of Lundy, California was my Great Great Grandfather... I had been researching him for years but couldn't ascertain what happened to him after 1880. In late 2011 I discovered California resident and voter listings and found him.

Elliott Fulton Isbell was born February 28, 1846 in Illinois. Actually, he was Fulton Elliott Isbell but later switched names.

I found an article in a local Bridgeport newspaper that his son, William, was handling his estate. Elliott was also featured in a ghost town book, based on an article. He was staying in a cabin which got slammed and buried by an avalanche. Thanks goodness he was rescued.
