RE: Benevolence Bancroft Maples 1789-??
Hi Peg,

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm sorry but I can't help you with Benevolence. I also have a missing 4g grandmother. She died shortly before my family came to Plum River. Family records have her death in Kendall Co but as of yet we haven't been able to locate her. Good luck with your search.

RE: Carr/Starr
Cool....glad you got it figured out.

RE: Carr/Starr?
The other stones read Starr. And when I was adding pics, the memorial does read Caroline Carr Starr. So William must be related somehow to Carrie. 43806751

RE: Thanks!
You are welcome. His stone was quite moss covered. I ran to my car and got a brush and cleaned it off. BTW, William was buried by Carrie A Starr and Harry D.D. Starr. All three stones match. Looks like maybe they are related. I will be adding their photos when I'm done with the photo requests.

I went ahead and transferred John's memorial to you. I am elderly and ill at this time and truly don't feel like re-visited this site. As long as Grandpa John has a relative to maintain his site, I'm glad to give you his site. Good luck - you are welcome to any info on my/now your memorial.

I will have to go back thru my records to see where I got the info on John. He is a distance grandparents of my husbands. Lets work on this together and It wouldn't bother in the least to transfer him to you. Lets try and figure out first just where is he buried. I'd hate to delete him with his info until I see what you have.

RE: Thank you!
I posted an edited version because she is still living. If your family would prefer to have the unedited version posted, just let me know. I err on the side of protecting the privacy of the living, but I have both saved as copies.

McCallums in Ogama County MI

Find the intersection of M-55 and M-33 on a road map to start. Go North on M-33 from that point to County Road F-24 (also called State Road). Turn right, East, on F-24 and the cemetery is on the north East corner of F-24 and Morrison Road.

There is a driveway into the cemetery off F-24 on the East side of it. After you turn onto the entrance road just go in a couple of car lengths and you will see a hill to your left. The site is near the top of the hill.

RE: George Henagin
You are very welcome, Peg. I happened to notice that findagrave also lists a second wife for George buried in Rockford Cemetery - Ida Shaffer Henagin. I called the office to inquire about her, and learned that their cemetery records prior to 1930 are sometimes incomplete. Since Mabel Marcus had reported her father's death, and had probably also made arrangements for his Rockford burial, I expect he was buried there just as expected - but that the record of his location has not survived.

I happened to notice duplicate listings on findagrave for George - as "Henagin" and as "Hennagin." I sent a message to the later listing's creator suggesting a merge of these records.

Rockford Cemetery's findagrave list also includes a Fred Henagin (son of George). I cannot find him in the cemetery either. However, I expect they all might be located near section K where Frances was buried. There was still space available for Mabel's grave in 1939.

RE: Thanks!
You're welcome. Sorry she doesn't have a stone. I'm not sure how much I told you. She was 86 years old when she passed. I have her last residence as being: 215 Washington Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. She was born in NY. Her date of death was 03 Dec 1910 with interment being 05 Dec 1910. She died from Pneumonia. Her burial permit no. was 2397.

RE: Alonzo Elmer--Duplicate
Peg, I'm sorry you are not getting a response from the original memorial creator. That's very frustrating indeed! Do you have the emails you sent to the contributor? If it has been more than 30 days you can forward your email to and title it "unresponsive contributor". (See the FAQs for more details.) They will eventually make the change but will probably not transfer your gg-grandfather since he is beyond the mandatory transfer guidelines. I would gladly transfer to you but others strictly follow the guidelines. In any case I wish you luck with this and hope it gets resolved. I won't be following up on this so whatever you decide to do is fine with me.

If you get anymore duplicate notifications from me just feel free to ignore me. I'm just trying to clean up that cemetery since I've found one person who has made almost 150 dupes!

Best regards ... Sharon

RE: Hi Barbara,
Ignor my previous reply to you. . . didn't know what I was thinking.

No, I don't need a transfer. She is a very distant cousin - what my grandmother use to call "shirt tail relation".

Thanks. . . . Barbara
