|Bruce Phillips||RE: Robert Phillips|
Received a message from you recently but could not open it. Please send it again or e-mail me at email@example.com Thanks again, I believe I answered your last question about my family tree. It must have been Sarah who was Cherokee, because there is no other signs of American Indian in the Phillips family. Talk to you soon, Bruce Phillips

Hi AG, Who was the father of your Terrell T. Phillips. I have not carried that Phillips line that far. As for Robert, he is buried in West Liberty Cemetery in Putnam Co. Mo. You can find that on Find a Grave. His father is Robert Phillips, my fourth great uncle, born in Pa. in 1795 and died in Jefferson Co. Ohio in 1864. His father John Phillips is my 4th Great Grandfather, abt 1760 to abt. 1820. John and his family had land together in Steubenville, Ohio around 1805. I have not found any evidence of Indian blood in Jeremiah or his wife. He did look a little like having Indian blood but maybe he did have many Indian friends since your father mentioned that. Hope this helps, my problem is finding where our Phillips family came from. I spent several hundred dollars with the Pa. Hist. Soc. in research but they could not find anything in the Chester, Pa. area where I thought they were. Some evidence points to John having been in Western Pa. before going to Ohio. Let me know if you have any information on what Country our Phillips came from. Take care, Bruce Phillips

A.G. I noticed that back in 2012 you were looking for information on Robert Phillips. His grandfather, John Phillips, was my 4th great grandfather. I have been trying to find out some information on him and his wife Jane. Do you have any research on that family? I noticed it was mentioned that Robert was spelled with one L. His stone and other censes info has it spelled with two L's. There were Phillips with one L at that time but I do not know if Robert, or his dad, Robert, or his grandfather, John, spells it with one L. Any information would be helpful. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks, Bruce Phillips

Hi, I was told by another member that you are trying to contact me about Holt Ancestry of Whitley County, KY where I currently live. I've been working hard on my Ancestry since back in 2009 so since then I have found that Pascal Holt and Rachel Jones Holt are my 4th great grandparents. It has been hard at times trying to find some of the data here but I've had alot of luck and many of the land owners that own the land the cemeteries are on have been nice enough to give me permission to go onto their land and take pictures of the graves mainly because many of the current landowners are also descendants of the same ancestors as myself.
I have been hesitant to add alot of the info and photos that I have because there are some users that just simply add names to be adding them to their findagrave account without ever bothering to add any photos, info or anything else to the person's memorial and when another user does that then all the work I have done is down the drain because I can't link the family members back to each other especially when you have like 6 generations going back to link together so I usually just leave a note for those users hoping they will link the family members but usually they don't. I will be happy to share info with you just let me know how I can help because many of the cemeteries have no signs to help show where they are located at and some are so far out in the mountains that nobody mows or keeps the cemeteries cleaned up so I just simply wait until the first frost here and go collect info when I don't have to worry about snakes and 100 degree weather.

|Donna Kelly||RE: Robert Phillips Civil War Enrollment Info|
Hi , I found his Civil War record online on the Missouri State Hertiage Digital Records . It's in the Soliders Records. They are free.
They spelled Phillips with just one L back then.
So look under Robert Philips.

Viewing all those names was so sad. All the pain and heartache those people and their loved ones went through...

Find a grave posted the spreadsheet that I submitted of all the new readings we did. There is a Mary Phillips that we submitted as new because the year of birth did not match what was already on the site. This may very well be the same person, the stone does not show a middle name. Take a look at the other Mary Phillips and see if this is the correct one.

no problem at all. I feel it is giving back to the community of folks that care about the past.
I love photographing cemeteries, and yes when I started several years ago it did feel strange but seeing the condition of many of these old cemeteries reinforces the importance of photographing and transcribing and in many cases retranscribing them to preserve them for future generations. It is just sad that technology was not as available 20 years ago as it is now to do this.
