I think what you are seeing is that he Died in France and the body was never recovered or if it was it was buried in France. So the family put up a stone in his honor as they didn't very well want to travel to france. So the US stone would be a cetnotaph

RE: Eugene R Burnham
Sorry, I don't know any more about his parents. I'm working my way through the Hubbard Funeral Home records, which are by date of death. Eugene Burnham was living at Selfridge Air Force Base in Harrison Township. The record shows his parents names, Christie R Burnham and Lucille Goebel, but no more about them.

Thanks again for the headstone picture and for transferring the memorials to me. I am hoping that one of my "Michigan" cousins will find findagrave and e-mail me. I have been trying to add pictures and memorials--I even added some pages out of an autograph book that my grandfather had in the 1880s. One is on the memorial for Philetus Sturges (33543701)--my great grandfather. Thanks, Diana

That would be great!
Julia's father, James, is my Jasper's brother. Both went to Branch CO, and both married Twiss connections (James' first wife). Do you know about that family?

Jasper Underhill
Which other Underhills are in that cemetery? My ancestor is Charles Jay, his son (1833-1867), and I am trying to find more on the family.

Thank you.

RE: Polly Babcock
She is hiding from us for sure. Maybe someone will come up with something in the future. I think all our pages are works in progress and each one comes along with their bread crumb and adds to the trails and suddenly everything falls in place. Thanks for your good work!

RE: Vilona Tinkham
Regarding Polly, there are a few Pollys in the family and someone said they didn't think she had made it to Michigan from New York. Maybe we have to search there for her.

RE: Vilona Tinkham
I couldn't sleep last night, so I was going through old emails with edits to delete and saw one about Polly and thought maybe that would be a good thing to see if I could find her. Vilona turned up and I love to pass on breadcrumbs that lead to trails. Hopefully you can find a cemetery index somewhere that includes her name. :)

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 90854637
As I stumble upon photographs, I usually upload them, if they are identified. I too have ancestors from Branch County, so I do keep my eyes open for that area.
