Old Centreville Cemetery Edits
Hi,

I'm sending you some edits in Old Centreville Cemetery that are based on photos I took recently but also based on a cemetery transcription done by the St. Joseph County Genealogical Society in the 1990's. There's no place in the new edit forms for notes so I wanted to let you know.

Hope you enjoyed what appears to be the last of our autumn weather. It has been a beautiful fall here.

Lois

Chatfields in Charleston Cemetery, Volinia, Michigan
Hi Ronda, in the cemetery, there on six burials on Find A Grave. in the records, there are 5, two Cornelius, but only one is an adult. I know the one I am looking for died in that town at the age of 35 in 1847. If in fact the page you gave me is the foot stone, and it belongs to the headstone, and we combine them, then I would change my date to match the headstone and make a note on his page in the body with the date I have for him. Is it easy at some point to go back out there? I would be most appreciative, and, there is no hurry. Might be nice to have a picture of all the stones if they fit into one frame. I have no idea where or if Mary (1818) and Jane (1817) fit into the mix. Thanks for sending me the link to the cemetery. Catherine

You are very welcome! Their stone is right under a pine tree and that is sap from the tree on the front of their stone. I tried to wipe it off but it wouldn't come off. Carla :)

I know it does sound strange, but Isadora is the husband of Althea "Altie". I have corrected the entries, based on their death certificates and I appreciate the heads up!

Ronda, do you know who maintains that site. I added photo's of the cemetery but they are not there. Those were the before and after pics that I had taken.

You are very welcome, Ronda. Cleaning that cemetery was an all day job. That is my ex's family. It took him, I, our son, his sister and her 3 kids all day to clean it. It was very overgrown by wild roses and other stuff. Many of the stones were broke off. We did our best to try and put things together. We did not have things or a way to fix them but at least they are where they need to be. Tammy

My son's Burch grandparents died when he was young so I started doing research so he would know some of his heritage. I ran across the listing for the cemetery and went looking for it. I just wanted to say thank you and sorry for the double pics of the cemetery, findagrave was giving me a fit. Tammy

RE: Griffins
Ronda - I search ancestry.com for pictures I can match to Find-A-Grave memorials. I post these pictures hoping family, friends and future generations will find a picture they have not seen before. My grandmother was a Griffin, from Iowa. To my knowledge I have no connections to Missouri.

Reagrds,

Mike

Zabels in Salem Cemetery
Hi there, I am a descendant of the Zabels. I am wondering if there is a map available showing where the different graves are? We'll be visiting this summer.
Thx

Hi there. Thanks for the note on Rebecca Root. However, when I went to look up the cemetery that her death certificate shows, I was directed to Salem. The following is listed on the Salem page:

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Salem Cemetery, or as it is sometimes known Sherman Cemetery is located behind the church.

Is there perhaps something I am not aware of?

Thanks so much,
Becca
