David Groce @ Forest Park
I see you added a picture request for David Groce @ Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. If you would call the cemetery at 713-928-5141 and get a "SECTION" and "LOT" I will try to get the picture you want. This is a very large (225+) acre cemetery and without a location would be very hard to find. They are open on the weekend and I might go Monday so try to get the info.

Thank you,
Cecil Vaden Jr

Hi Witt cousin
Yes you have found the Witt line that I am also a part of. I have not looked recently, but our line should be on the World Family Tree, Ancestry.com
I spent many years searching our line to use it as my entrance to become a member of the DAR. I ran into issues and ended up using my mother's lineage for membership.
I have not spent much time on genealogy for the last few years. But I miss it so much. Loved doing the research. Hope to get back to it this fall.
Let's keep in touch and I will see if I can be of any help. Thanks for contacting me.

Thanks for the reply.

BDR Shinn Jr and Martha Tucker are my great, great grandparents. So we are indeed kin !

BDR Sr had BDR Jr who married Angeline Eubanks. They had a daughter, Calvin Eula "Callie" Shinn, my grandmother.

Geraldine Hood
I just added a Memorial for Geraldine Quinlan Brown which is the name on the stone. This is in the same lot as other Hood's. I am guessing that Brown is maiden name. Let me know what you want me to do with this. I added picture under Jerry Hood.

Martha/Mary Swinburn, Mexia Cem.
I just put fotos on the site and FYI the first name is off as is the B/D info.
Let me know it all is ok, thanks.
Also, on one side of the common stone with E.N. is the wording "Dedicated to the memory of her mother by Annie Carey." Do U know what this is talking about.
Later, James Coston

Jasper Hood
The Jasper Hood at Memorial 13986269 is definitely the brother of Jake Hood and son of John Henry Hood, so I have seen an email to the person who has the memorial and asked her to link Jasper to his father and mother. Meadie Marshall Hood has now been linked to them as well.

Jasper Hood
Jasper Hood at Memorial 13986269 MAY be the Jasper Hood that is the brother of Jake Hood and son of John Henry Hood...but I'm not sure yet. The Jasper in 13986269 had a wife named Martha, and he is buried in the same cemetery as Jewel Hood Parks as well as Robert Wilkins and Mollie Jones who were the parents of Naomi Wilkins, wife of Jake Hood. You can look at it and see what you think.

I removed your grandmother, Rita, from the link as Danny's mother. With regard to Jerry Aundos Hood (1934-1995), I have access to Highland Cemetery records and they do not show him buried there. With regard to Jake's wife, Naomi, I too believe she likely is buried in Durant, but she is not listed in the Highland Cemetery records and I haven't found her anywhere else. I even looked for her in Texas, but didn't find anything. And yes, I knew about Jewell Hood Parks and Hazel Juanita Hood Harrison. I asked the person who has Juanita's grave to link her with her father, Jake. Also, I created a memorial for Juanita's son, Richard, who died in 2008 and I linked him to his mother and father. I haven't found anything on Jasper except in the 1920 federal census and I posted that information on Jake's memorial. I also knew about Cordelia M. Hood Snow but haven't found anything on her.

Hood Family
Thank you for your F.A.G. message. I linked Danny Hood with his father, Aundos, as you requested. I also added a little information to the memorial of Jack Isaac 'Jake' Hood. I have searched high and low for his wife's memorial, Naomi Mae Wilkins Hood, but so far I cannot find her. I have also searched for the memorial or grave for Jasper Hood who was Jake's brother, but so far no luck. I found the grave for Meadie Marshall Hood and sent a request for it to be linked with his father and mother, John Henry Hood and Elmira Golden. And I sent a little bit of information to the person who has the memorial for John Henry Hood and asked her to put it on his memorial. I think she probably is part of your family too, but I don't know that for certain. I will help you look for some of your Hoods if you give me their full names and birth and death dates and an idea of where they lived. There are 8 people named Hood buried in Highland Cemetery in Durant, and many more in Bryan County itself.
