RE: Elijah Cantrel in Morgans Creek Cem. Hickman, Tn
Mr Johnny P Hutcheson(Hutchison) knew a lot of people in Hickman co. He told anyone that visited with him all he knew.

His full name was John Frank Hutchinson born 4/21/1982 and died Dec 1986. He was son of James H Hutcheson and Mary Elizabeth Coates(Coats). His nickname was Johnny P.

My grandmother was related to him and she told me a little song they use to sing to Johnny.

"Betty had a little mule, she called Jack. She sold him to Cherry Sanders and Johnny P cried till she bought him back."

RE: goldsmith
still chasing goldsmiths? I had a bible my cousin had received from my grandmother who was the daughter of james a goldsmith. in the bible my cousin wrote that Jacob goldsmith and Martha were my gmaws grandparents. she also had another story about the other branch of the family and I have found it all to be incorrect. I am 90 percent sure that my james was the son of Robert and alsinda moore goldsmith. Robert was born circa 1800 and his father was William and his brother was Jacob and many more siblings. if you have any info and want to go over all this mess my email is ross1947@gmail.com and my name is dale ashcraft. I live in Burlington ky and go to james a goldsmiths grave every year.

i saw your message to john goldsmith in wva, i am pretty sure he was my g g grandfathers james a goldsmiths brother. is your family still in wva or did they move? james left there after the civil war and moved to mo and lived with his sister and her husband. my g grandmothers family moved to mo from owen co ky. when the war started because my gg grandfather prather was a northern sympathiser and his family was southern. somehow james met my grandmother sarah prather and they all moved back to the area i now live in which is northern kentucky. james died and is buried in piner ky and i have his wva civil war medal.
