Thomas C. Smith, son of Joseph
Thanks Dana for feedback. Those Smiths are hard to untangle.
I do not have listed this WILLIAM (d1868) as a brother of Thomas C. (bc1798) who m. Louisa Dant, both dying before 1836 in Marion Co.. Your William is unknown to me, but it is possible that he is a brother, given the close birth dates. (However, he seems to be a Presbyterian, and not Catholic, like the rest of my Smiths.)
I have this/your William (b 1795-1868) as husband of Mariah Jane ROBERTSON (1805-1868 Marion Co.), parents (not aunt/uncle) of Ann Eliza, who m. Mussen. (I have 1860 Marion census, with "Annia Freeman" living with Wm. and Maria Smith.) (Have not gone further on this line.)
My Thomas C. is a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Bending Smith, brother to my 3GGrandfather, Joseph "C" Smith of Loretto area. Not all of the first Samuel's sons have been proved, and there were many Sams, Williams, Johns, running around at that time!
An OH genealogist tracked down for me the bond given to Thomas's other brother, John B. "Jack" Smith, for the children Jos. Sylvester, Isabella, and T.J. Smith in 1836, therefore my death date for the parents is "before 1836".
(Report) Became guardian of of deceased brother Thomas C. Smith's children (died c1836): Isabelle (bc1825), Thomas Jefferson (bc1829) and Sylvester (bc1831).
1849 Tax Record: John B. Smith, 123 acres, Hardin Creek, as guardian for Thomas C. Smith's children: Silvester, Isabella and T. J. Smith, each 33 acres on Prather's Creek. Next door to Samuel E. Smith.
--
Back to William as brother of Thomas C. ... I have nothing to state that Wm. left a portion of his estate to these same "orphans". Maybe there is another Thomas here ??
Proving Thomas C. Smith and Louisa Dant's orphans, their own marriages and children, would clear this up - maybe!
Thanks - we'll keep looking.
Regards,
Marcia

Wlliam Roscord Webb or William R Webb
I believe that his parents are Lewis Webb-born 1759 New Kent, Virginia and died 12 Jul 1841-Perryville, Boyle, Ky and mother is Lucy Roscow Cary Webb-born 5 Apr 1768 York, VA and died before 1850 Boyle, Ky. In a petition to receive a pension for her husband serving in the Revolutionary War is a list of all the child and their DOB and William R Webb is listed.

Goodwill Photos
Dana, great minds think alike. I also saw the photos of Phoebe Rumsey and Jacobus Van Keuren on shopgoodwill.com and was going to attach them to this couple's f.a.g. memorials, but you beat me to it. Such a shame to see family photos dumped at Goodwill, but fortunately a few do have the names on them. Thanks for attaching them to the memorials!

lucy webb
I went out to the cemetery today and walked around for about 15 min until I finally found the stone
I thought I only got the one stone that was very legible on lucy but today there was one person on back of lucys stone which I believe is her brother w.a which I tried to chalk and it didnt come out too good
but w. r. and Jane have their own stones and I chalked them and I put all of the pictures of the stones in the right sites and took down lucys stone where it didnt belong
so you can look at the sites now and I think I have them all right
I will add to each site the bigger picture I took of all the stones together.

RE: Lucy Webb
the names on the stone are:
W. R. died 1/17/1874
W. A. son of lucy and R. B.
died 1/14/1874
Jan H.
died 9/1/1860

I am assuming that lucys name was the only one
that was legible? when the hot weather quits
and I can get back out to the cemetery and find the stone again ?? I will look but Im assuming that
the other names were not legible or I would have posted them?
