Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - Sunday, February 24, 2013

Deceased Name: Kay Faith Monterville
February 21, 2013

Kay Faith Monterville, 70, of Camillus, NY, died unexpectedly at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton Florida on Thursday, February 21, after a courageous four-day battle with complications resulting from a minor medical procedure. During her battle, Kay was surrounded by members of her loving family who traveled from Buffalo and Rochester, NY; Charleston, SC; Los Angeles, CA; Beijing, China; Boston, MA and Ellicott City, MD to rally around her hospital bed, hold her hand and finally kiss her goodbye.
The daughter of the late Jack and Magdalene Monterville, she was predeceased by her aunt Lillian (Yi), and survived by her brother, Jack (Dorothy) Monterville; daughter, Erin (Tom) Garian; sons, David (Heather) Harris, Blair (Valerie) Harris, and Scott (Kim) Harris; thirteen grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends in both Syracuse, NY and Bradenton, Florida.
Kay was a practicing licensed Massage Therapist for the past 13 years, and worked as an administrator at Community General Hospital from 1974 to 1996. What brought Kay the most satisfaction and happiness was reflected in her FB profile "I have three sons and one daughter. They are all very handsome/beautiful and my proudest accomplishment in life. I worked for 22 years at Community General Hospital and when I left this job I attended Massage Therapy School in Sarasota, Florida. It is very rewarding work and I love it. I have been doing this for the past 13 years or so. I have learned that change is good and healthy. I have thirteen grandchildren and five great-grands! For the past few years I have been fortunate to spend time during the winters in Florida. I love my life and my family and friends. I try to stay active."
One of Kay's many gifts was her ability to connect with people through the power or touch, a smile, kind word, listening ear, and an honest compliment.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held on May 25, 2013 in Camillus, NY (location and time to be determined). Those wishing may consider a memorial donation to one of her causes; the Emergency Shelter for Women ( and SPCA ( in her memory.

Thanks for your efforts to find Leo Caplan. I do have him in the National Memorial Cem. in Phoenix, AZ. I just have a short bio. with picture, that had been submitted about him in our county's Heritage book. His sister, Ethel C. Smith had been interviewed for the bio.
I will change burial to unknown if his grave isn't found in a reasonable time.
Thanks again for your time.
