Samantha E Emmerson
1828-1856 59459140 Samantha is listed in the Combined History of Edwards, Lawrence and Wabash Counties Illinois. Pub by McDonough in Philadelphia in 1883.

In the online Edition of this book she is mentioned on pg.257. The write-up is headed "Morris Emmerson," who was born in 1853 of Jesse and Samantha Emmerson. Article includes the fact that Samantha (Sperry) was born in Connecticut, lines up with the state of birth in this headstone, and from pictures on Find a Grave, her husband is on the opposite side of the stone, and is Jesse Emmerson born 1813. (see next message)

Please include an update to this memorial,if Possible, that the maiden name is Sperry.

Jesse's sister Martha Emmerson Greathouse is my fourth great Grandmother.

Please provide a link to Samantha's
husband, Jesse Emmerson. 59459002

Thanks, Lynn

John E. Bartos
RE: Wayne County, Illinois
Hi Mr. Smith: Thank you for your wonderful consideration in providing me with Mr. Shelton's name and member number, I am most grateful, but at the moment I don't have a need for any photos in Wayne County, IL. The help I currenty need in Wayne County deals with land records near Mt. Erie, but I think the ones which I suspect I need were apparently destroyed in a courthouse fire. I suspect this work is beyond what I would be comfortable in asking Mr. Shelton to do. Again, thank you for your thoughtfulness in offering to help another "graver". Best Regards, John E. Bartos, Golden, Colorado
