Horace P. Peck, Jr.
You left messages for Irma Hargis about a dupe memorial for Horace Peck, her memorial in the wrong state. I agree with you, I had a problem with her work too, and she does seem inactive. In any case, I had the two Peck memorials merged, you'll no longer find the one in Wilson Cemetery. I had my problem fixed as well. Rich.

RE: Frank Fannin
Hi Backwoodsman,
Yes, Frank Fannin was my great grandfather and he was married to Lettie Chandler Fannin. They had two sons, John T. Fannin and Madison Monroe Fannin (my grandfather). From what I understand, they didn't live together throughout their entire married lives. Frank left the Winnfield area at some point and ended up down toward Vidalia, Louisiana area and pretty much lived alone in the woods and trapped for a living. My grandfather Monroe and his brother-in-law Joe Francis, in about 1951, got word of Frank's whereabouts and went and got him, bringing him to Old River (near the Catahoula-LaSalle parish line). He stayed near there until his death and that is why he is buried in LaSalle Parish.

Guthrie-Norman Memorials
Thank you for your work on these families. I am a direct relative of Carrie Hogg Guthrie (great grandmother), Ima Louisa Guthrie Norman (her daughter and my grandmother) and Marshall Norman
(Louisa's husband and my grandfather.) These graves are not forgotten by the family that still lives in the area. We miss them very much.

RE: Bond Cemetery in Lincoln Parish
I think we are talking about 2 different cemeteries and I'm not sure if your cem is a "Sanders". I do see the one that you speak of on Google Earth under the power line and I see two white markers with a big fenced area. The one that I that I have says "Sanders" and it is black with 8 markers. One marker is a Lee Young LA Cpl 806 Pioneer Inf, b. 1895 d. 1940 and the application for the marker shows "Nicholson" Cemetery. There is a Mrs. Eliza Sanders, She is connected to the Youngs and Nicholsons. I'll still sending you the list if you want it.

If you will send me your e-mail address, I will send you a scanned copy of the "Sanders" list that was found in the Lincoln Parish Cemeteries book in the Parish Library in Ruston. My e-mail is

RE: Bond Cemetery in Lincoln Parish
Many Thanks,
Did you find this cemetery based on the instruction of George Park? I'm afraid I'd still be looking. Now, according to the Lincoln Parish Cemeteries book, there is a "Sanders" (Black) Cemetery about 1/2 mile from China Grove Rd on the same road that leads to the Bond Cemetery. Looking at Google Earth there is a clunk of trees on the right at about that distance, did you per chance see it?

Do you go out on these adventures by yourself? I might have done that a few years ago, but I'm 73 and just don't feel safe going off too far into the woods without a partner. I certainly commend you for what you have done.

I see that you have made pictures at the Bond Cemetery in Lincoln Parish. Did you get a GPS reading while you were there. I'd appreciate those readings.

Sealy Cemetery
Sealy Cemetery in Lincoln Parish. I see that you placed a picture for this cemetery. Can you give better directions then what is found by other sources? I used google earth to map up the location and it appears that the area was cleared by timber being cut. I'm trying to put together a list of Lincoln Parish Cemeteries by GPS.
Thanks for any help,

Athens, LA

RE: Thomas Youngblood Entries
Actually, easier than I thought, I found our solution in the FAQs. Send your corrections to and they will edit the memorial on behalf of the deceased contributor. Be patient, because they receive 100s of requests a week.

Ahh, what a relief, there is enough intentional misinformation on the internet. I am happy we can continue to improve the accuracy of this site's information.

BTW, I am researching the McQuiston family of Shreveport. I have found interesting information that should be added, and or corrected on the memorials Thomas created.

Hey, have you ever had any additional contact with survivors of T. Youngblood? I am highly interested in several of his memorials and would like to continue maintaining them.
