|The Preacher's Kid||Isaac Lane|
Received your email concerning Mr. Lane's parentage. I had received different info from another Find A Grave contributor sometime back. I am at a loss. Can you help me verify your info?

Death Date: 13 Mar 1940
Death Place: Etowah, Alabama
Death Age: 64
Father Name: John Callaway
FHL Film Number: 1908586
I have already asked the acct holder to add this info to the bio section. Just didn't want you to think I had given up. I will try to go check microfilm for this date for an obituary and hopefully it will give the burial location. The genealogy Society (NEAGS) has a group of ladies who are in the process of building a book for all the people buried here and I would love to be able to prove he is indeed buried there so it will be in the book too. Will let you know when I find something. Maria

I was so glad I got this photo request. It might not be legible in a year or two. The month of birth must have been legible when the cemetery was documented. By the way, I also took photos of Lurinda (buried next to W.A.) and Mary Etta (buried next to Lurinda). I think that Sarah Hamilton was buried next to Mary Etta but I had already taken her photo. It had started raining when I got to the cemetery. If you want me to try to take another photo when the stone is dry, just let me know.

I posted pictures for Lula, Sanford, Howard, Claude, and Elizabeth Green, as well as William and Guyselle Greene. All are buried adjacent to each other.

I'm sorry, but I cannot find any record of Hiram Lamb or any of the other names listed in his memorial. There is a Martha Lamb, but she lived 1886-1959 and it's probably her married name. There's also an Elizabeth Lamb 1854-1915, wife of G. L. Lamb, so that is her married name. I don't think the dates really fit either. I could not find the other names anywhere. The website for Maple Hill is http://maps.hsvcity.com/cemetery. There are two databases you can search. The cemetary records database is the records at the cemetary office. The burial markers database is records of markers from where volunteers have actually walked around and recorded them. Both databases have missing info. I have actually stumbled across markers that are not listed in either database. Feel free to search the databases and post a request for any grandchildren, etc., that you might find. I will keep his name in my list of mysteries, and if I come across him in the future, I will definitely post a picture for you. For now, I'm going to close out the photo request since it's been there awhile and obviously no one else has had any luck finding him either. Sorry about that. Good luck in your research!

Fredie Smith told me that it was 1818 when he took the photo. The marker is a bit worn, but that's what he said after viewing it up close.

You are so welcome! This cemetery is not far from my home so it was pretty easy. It was my first photo request, and so easy, I hope I can find the time to do some more.

You are so welcome. I pass by the Straight Creek Church almost every day and it really wasn't that difficult to find their graves. That was my first experience with findagrave and I am so glad to help out.

You are welcome! FYI - Harrison was not buried next to wife you mentioned. He was buried next to Betiath. I also took photo her headstone (I assume this is a female) and Will Blackwell. Also, there were 3 Stiefel children buried behind Oscar & Ruthie Stiefel at Corinth Missionary Baptist. I also took photos of them. Just wanted you to know in case you hadn't seen them. Have a great day!

You are welcome! And I added her maiden name. If you can give me places of birth/death, I can add them, too, and links to her parents? Thanks!

No problem. I was in Section taking other photos today anyway. I could not find Luther @ Section United Methodist Church Cemetery. There are NO Hamiltons in that cemetery. However, when I got home, I looked up Section Bluff Cemetery (Bluff Cemetery in Find A Grave) and found Luther, Rayford, and Elna Hamilton there. I will go back to Bluff Cemetery and take photos. I will ask the person who set up the memorials to switch Luther, Elna and Rayford into Bluff Cemetery. She has a lot of links so I don't want her to have to delete her memorial. Keep checking !!

Laura, You are most welcome for the photos. If no one else gets the others you have requested in the area, I will plan to get them the next time I visit my father-in-law.
