Thank you a million times over !!!
Good Morning Gravehound Club !!
Picture this in your mind, hundreds of family gathering this week, old, young, coming thousands of miles to their reunion.
Sad because they could not located their great-great grandfathers' tombstone. (This reunion has taken place since World War 1 ).
However today that has changed because you posted his memorial up and added his Cival War record with the words Kenockee Michigan. It is JAMES G. Brown f.a.g.#79670327.
That little act of kindness for a soldier has made hundreds of people so happy in 2014 !!!!!
Thank you so very much for all you do here on find a grave, time, hard work, effort, gas money.
We really appreciate it.
God Bless you and yours
J.Wyke
p.s. I could not go had to work ,but it was worth it I found James : )

This man's story is actually of some interest; you may want to fill out the page with suitable details from his Cullum's Register entry and his West Point Association of Graduates obituary (http://bit.ly/Cullum2431 and http://bit.ly/AOG2431 respectively).

Kind regards,

Robert in Old Calvery Cemetery
You created 10 memorials for a Robert (no last name) and no birth or death dates and no other information. Are these duplicated of one person? It will be very difficult to determine who these are without any other identifing information. You may want to concider deleted them.

RE: memorial duplicates

When you click on the memorial in the mail it will it will take you to the duplicate (Yours). I copy and paste the original memorial, so you have the # of the original and date is made. . Often the spelling is off as in this one. His name is Morris, yours is put in as Mores. His marker is Morris Sweezy.

Lowery Dickson
Do you realize you have entered 5 memorials for this one man? I have researched this cemetery since 1994, so I do have lots information regarding this individual. His headstone and his National Archives records as well as his signature have his name spelled as Lowery, not Lowrie. Something needs to be done to merge those 5 memorials into one so I can add the several paragraphs of information I have on Lowery and his wife Evelyn. Those memorials are 80953905, 80953906, 80953909, 80953910, and 80953911.

Libby Smith
Hi...I just found this for Libby Smith...I've been looking for information on him for some time. Especially where he was buried. I've roamed the Heavenly Rest several times over the years, looking for him. Can you tell me where his site is at the Cemetery. He is my grandfather, Hugh Sprague's father in law who came here to Michigan with him from Maine. They fought in the Civil War. Do you have any information on his wife, Abbie, Abby, or Abigail? Also, his daughters, Livonia Smith, and Emma Mary (Smith) Sprague...who is the first wife of my grandpa Hugh Smith Sprague..who is buried at Heavenly Rest, also. His cemetery plot is only marked with his name...but there are several buried there? Anyway you can find out who? Thanks in advance for any efforts you make, and a sincere thank you for all you do.

4th Michigan Infantry
Errors in memorials
I've noticed that for some reason, you are no longer responding to transfer requests that I have made with regard to soldiers who served in the Fourth Michigan Infantry. I accept that your decision to transfer or keep them was/is entirely up to you. But please note that your memorials for several of those soldiers (as well as those for a few other soldiers) have errors in them. This is especially true with regard to the frequent suggestion that they had membership in local G.A.R. posts and and had served as flag holders. A few other members have noticed this as well, and have been contacting me with questions concerning those soldiers. I honestly appreciate your interest in the memorials of Civil War soldiers but ask that you be more cautious and critique your research, rather than presenting a misleading military bio of these men.

Bryon F. Parke
I feel that you have some mis-information here regarding him. I would rather doubt if he was in the Michigan government in 1833, since he was born in 1826 in New York state. Curious as to the source of this. Hoping that you will check it all out and make a correction where needed. Thanks.

Chambers grave in Femont Cemetery
It appears that the marker on Thomas P. Chambers memorial is for P. P. Chambers. I have visited this cemetery and have not found a Civil War marker for Thomas....only P.P. Chambers. Will keep looking.

jacob heist 80754213

I've been gathering material to write a short biography on Jacob A Heist, and though his pension records confirm the amputation of his left leg, I couldn't find anything about him being a prisoner of war or having had a re-amputation.

Would you mind forwarding this email to Tina or another member of the Gravehound group to ask them for their source on his capture and second amputation information? I'd like to include it in his bio if they would kindly share the original source.

Thanks a lot,
